This Wednesday, September 30, we’ll be at the Virginia Museum of History & Culture for the Virginia Hispanic Gala, sharing the beauty of Peruvian culture through handmade designs, artisan craftsmanship, and meaningful pieces inspired by our heritage.

From one celebration to the next, our mission stays the same: to keep Peru close, share our stories, and bring our culture to new places and new communities.

What a night, Washington, D.C.! 🇵🇪✨

So much color, so much culture, and so much love for Peru.

This September, Peru Gift Shop joined Art All Night at the Embassy of Peru, sharing the stories, traditions, and handmade treasures that keep us connected to home.

From our Heritage Collection dresses and artisan jewelry to our Traveling Llama and cultural gifts, every piece carried a little bit of Peru’s heart.

At Taste of Peru, home felt a little closer. 🇵🇪❤️

It was an honor for Peru Gift Shop to celebrate alongside our community, surrounded by the flavors, music, and traditions that connect us to Peru.

Before this became a little owl, it was a simple gourd and an artisan’s idea. 🦉

In Huancayo, Peru, the Canto family carries forward the art of mate burilado through Kuntur Designs, founded in 1988. For generations, artisans have carved scenes of Andean life into gourds, preserving stories, customs, and memories.

Watch the hands at work: drawing, carving, and carefully bringing each detail to life. Every gourd has its own shape, and every handmade piece carries the individual touch of its maker.

A little look behind the scenes of a weekend I will never forget. 🇵🇪❤️

These are the moments people don’t always see.

The fittings. The last-minute changes. The models getting ready. The garments carefully prepared. The conversations, the nerves, the laughter, the teamwork, and all the little details happening before anyone ever stepped onto the runway.

Our Celebration of Textiles presentation at The George Washington University Museum and The Textile Museum was months in the making, and seeing everything finally come together was incredibly emotional.

What we shared was much more than fashion.

We shared Peru’s history, regional traditions, embroidery, weaving, heritage garments, contemporary design, and the work of artisans whose knowledge has been passed from generation to generation.

From traditional looks inspired by different regions of Peru to contemporary creations by Peruvian artisans and designers, every piece had a story behind it.

And behind every beautiful moment on stage was a team of people helping make that story possible.

To our artisans, designers, models, volunteers, collaborators, friends, and everyone who supported us behind the scenes: thank you.

These photos remind me that preserving culture is not only about remembering the past. It is about giving our traditions a place in the present and helping them continue into the future.

We are not simply preserving our heritage.

We are carrying it forward. 🇵🇪✨

And after this weekend, it truly feels like we are only getting started.

Threads, Stories & Peruvian Talent 🇵🇪✨

Today, we’re bringing together something truly special at Celebration of Textiles — a fashion presentation where tradition, craftsmanship, and contemporary Peruvian design meet on the same runway.

Behind every look is a story.

From Elvia Paucar, carrying forward the textile traditions of San Pedro de Cajas, to Agustina, reimagining Peruvian heritage through conscious contemporary design. From the Peruvian-inspired jewelry of Evelyn Brooks Designs, to the beautiful textile work of Pantirwa, Llapan Maki and Mantas y Trenzas, each piece represents the creativity, hands, and cultural memory of Peru.

You’ll also discover designs created with natural camelid fibers, embroidery, traditional techniques, and modern interpretations that show how our heritage can continue evolving without losing its roots.

For us, this is what Peruvian fashion is about:
honoring where we come from while creating what comes next.
