People often ask what the J in J. Dewey stands for. Well this is the man that the company was named for, John Dewey. He was one of the early influential members of the benchrest community. An extremely talented gunsmith and barrel maker. If you ever come across a firearm that he either built from scratch or modified for a customer, the high quality of the work will be immediately apparent. He was a Korean War Naval veteran that proudly served his country. Unfortunately I never met him as he passed a few years before I was born but I am proud to carry on the legacy of quality products that is synonymous with the Dewey name.
