Just a dream I couldn’t stop believing in, a whole lot of figuring it out as I went, and eventually, the right person standing beside me to help build something even bigger.

Somehow, the dream that started in my head became ours.

There was a time when becoming a household name felt like something I could only ever dream about. Now, seeing Rustic Pine Candle Company in your homes and woven into your everyday moments is something I don’t think I’ll ever take for granted.

Three years ago this month, I set up my very first market on the same street where our storefront now stands. I had no idea what I was doing, i just knew I loved making candles and hoped someone else would love them too. Now, we have gone places I never could have imagined!

From the very beginning, North Carolina has been at the heart of this business. Our very first signature candle was Old North State, a candle created to celebrate the place we get to call home. I never imagined that same name would one day inspire our storefront, Old North State & Co. It feels like everything has come full circle!

To everyone who has supported us in any way…thank you! You’re the reason we’ve made it this far.

Weathered Shore is the candle that makes you stop mid-sniff.

It’s the scent people pick up out of curiosity and leave thinking about long after they’ve walked away. The one that makes you question everything you thought you liked in a candle.

Its notes of mahogany, creamy coconut, and rich sandalwood come together in a way that shouldn’t work…yet somehow it does and it feels like home.

Nostalgic was the word we kept hearing over and over again this weekend as people walked through our storefront. And truthfully, there’s no better compliment because that feeling has been at the heart of Rustic Pine & from the very beginning!

From the familiar scents that remind you of home and summers growing up, fresh laundry, hanging out on the front porch, and just simpler days to products that feel meaningful, timeless, and comforting. We wanted this space to feel like something you’ve known forever.

Our Outer Banks scent especially seemed to do just that! So many people picked it up and immediately started sharing memories of beach trips, the salty breeze, the scent of sunscreen, and summers on the Carolina coast. The label itself also tells part of that story. Beautifully designed by .me.in.the.moment and inspired by our beloved Outer Banks coastline.

Today was nothing short of amazing.

The buzz and excitement around our new location truly made my day! We met so many first-time customers, connected with so many of you who have supported us for years, and sold out of so much product—which still feels surreal.

And a friendly reminder that supporting a small business also means respecting the work behind it.
