Gratitude Moment 💗 Some weeks are just special.

This one started with a small acrylic box from Jane Iredale. I’m now a Platinum Partner, which means Beauty Mix Studio sells more Jane Iredale than anyone in Texas and the surrounding area. For a brand I’ve trusted on real, lived-in skin for so long, that one really got me.

And in the same week, Living Magazine published that I was voted Best Makeup Artist.

What made it even sweeter? A card from my Renew MD family that simply said “Just Wow!” I couldn’t do any of this without that crew, and I hope they know it.

Gifted a few weeks ago, and I’ve genuinely reached for these three every single day since 🤍

A vitamin C with 15% stabilized L-ascorbic acid — the gold-standard, most bioavailable form of vitamin C. A retinol gentle enough that I don’t dread nighttime. And a hydrating step my skin never skips. Real, clinically-minded formulation — without the clinical price tag.

After 20 years doing this professionally, I don’t say that about many things.

Anyone else wash their brushes and then panic they won’t be dry in time? 🙃

Here’s my go-to trick: hang them off the edge of the counter, bristles hanging free — that way they get airflow from every angle and are ready to go by morning.

Quick refresher on the washing part too, since it matters just as much as the drying: I use a mild soap and water, get them really clean, then always rinse with the bristles pointing down so water doesn’t sneak up into the ferrule. A light squeeze to get rid of excess water, then lay them flat on a clean hand towel.

Small habit, but it makes your brushes last so much longer.

I volunteer with Look Good Feel Better at a Fort Worth hospital, teaching makeup techniques to women going through cancer treatment. Packing up disposables for class tonight — every brush, every wand, every product has a greater purpose tonight 💗

Getting to use my gifts and my time this way feels like such a privilege. Nineteen years of doing this work, and nights like tonight remind me exactly why.

I’m looking forward to meeting a new group of beautiful, brave women. 🤍

Pressing hard and bending the bristles? Stop right there. These bristles are soft, fluffy, and bendy — built to float color on, not pack it in.

➡️ Swish over the pan, tap off the excess, use light pressure. Too much packs color into fine lines.

➡️ Start at the top of the cheekbone, sweep toward the ear, and let it diffuse into your hairline. Build with light layers — no need to reload the brush.

➡️ Have hollowing or a tear trough under the eye? Bring a touch of color there too so it doesn’t look more hollow.
