It was so much fun to have all of the talented young piano students from studio of Dr. Yuliya Brown from Floretta P. Carson Visual and Performing Arts Academy. We were honored to share insights on how a Steinway and Sons piano is built and they were amazed by our Spirio high performance player piano. We also spent time with students performing on our 9’ performance piano. At the end of the event, we awarded Dr. Brown with her Steinway & Sons teacher and educational partner award.
She received this designation for her excellence in music education and her appreciation of Steinway and Sons pianos as the best equipment for the study of music.

We are so excited to welcome Emily Boutin to our Steinway family and to help her find the perfect Boston piano for her home. We appreciate her service of our country and supporting our American brand of pianos. When asked about her history and background in music, Emily said “I was fortunate enough to grow up playing piano at regular lessons, recitals, and competitions through the wonderful teaching of Sofya Shainskaya, and I fell in love with the sound of Steinway pianos playing in Boston one summer at Tanglewood’s youth camp. Since leaving Massachusetts for the Naval Academy in 2020, I hadn’t played piano since, but I dreamed of one day buying my own and practicing again. I’m still in the military, now as a Marine officer and student naval aviator, but thanks to Steinway, I have my own piano now! I can’t wait to keep practicing and improving, and I love my Boston upright!”

Ten years ago, the University of Mobile set out to pursue a vision of musical excellence: to give its students access to the finest pianos in the world and create an environment where exceptional instruments, instruction and talent could flourish together. At the heart of that vision was a desire to develop musicians who would use their God-given gifts for the glory of God and the good of the world.

Congratulations to Oliver Johnson and his family who selected the amazing Steinway- designed Essex institutional 48” studio piano. They selected this piano over a digital piano to further his talent and piano playing skills. We can’t wait to see how Oliver progresses with this instrument at his finger tips.
