Happy spring gardens start with proper fall preparations and mulching with our Soil Building Conditioner (SBC) is a fantastic way to get a head start!

SBC is an all-purpose certified organic amendment made with composted ingredients that works with our native soil to support your garden. It breaks up the clay-heavy ground we have in abundance in our high desert environment, adds nutrients that encourage root development, helps insulate your plants from heat, cold, wind, and water loss, and a thick enough layer of SBC mulch will even help prevent weeds from growing in your garden. So whether you're enjoying some fall annuals or planting bulbs for next spring, mulch with SBC and let this organic amendment do the work.

What is a plant's favorite music genre? 🎶

Does this sound like a setup to a joke? It's not, it's actually a genuine question with some research behind it! Plants across multiple studies have shown to have more vigorous growth, healthier leaves, and even better tasting fruit when they grow with music playing for them. It's not just any sound that works either, as some studies have shown that plants exposed to continuous traffic noise performed worse than plants being constantly serenaded. The genre that showed the best results might surprise you though. While plants do enjoy classical as many gardeners will suggest, the overall "favorite" genre of plants across the different studies is something a little louder: metal. Whether you're teaching your houseplants to appreciate jazz or headbanging beside your veggies, the best thing you can do for them is just spend some time with them, taking care of them, singing along to give them some extra carbon dioxide, and checking in to make sure they're doing well. We'll sing to that!

Crabapples are one of our favorite fall trees! 🌳 While they might not be quite as eye-catching as your maples, oaks, and honeylocusts this time of year, they still bring fall color with their leaves and ornamental fruit, plus they're the perfect size for smaller spaces. No matter what size yard you're working with, we bet we have a crabapple that can bring beautiful color to your home!

Gardening, whether it's indoors or outdoors, can be tremendously beneficial for your mental health.🧠Just having greenery in your home brings about neurological effects like lowering stress hormones and calming the nervous system. Gardening itself allows you to "unplug" while completing soothing, methodical tasks.🏡It can even help you to overcome perfectionist tendencies as gardening is imperfect and unpredictable, but the results are beautiful.

Remember to always take care of your own mental health, and seek help when you need it.❤️
