Y’all… I’m tired.
Between family, friends, navigating everything with the city, and the ongoing harassment surrounding the market postponement, I feel completely drained.
I started Sun & Dust because I wanted to create something that lifted up small businesses and brought our community together. That was always the heart behind it.
Lately, opening this page fills me with anxiety instead of excitement. The things people have said and done have been incredibly discouraging, and the harassment has gone far beyond anything I ever expected. It’s taken a real toll on me.
For the first time, I’ve found myself questioning whether I can keep doing this.
I also want to share a quick update. I had my meeting with the city, and we’re finally all on the same page moving forward. This event grew much faster than anyone anticipated, so we had to pause, work through the process together, and establish a clear path that meets the city’s requirements going forward.
One thing I do want to clarify is that every Sun & Dust event has taken place with the city’s approval. We don’t receive access to the venue without it. That’s why some of the accusations and assumptions that have been made have been so difficult to read.
Right now, we’re waiting on a new date for the postponed market. The city’s calendar is already very full, so we’re working together to find a weekend that works for everyone. As soon as I have a confirmed date, I’ll share it.
I’m not making any decisions today. I’m just being honest about where I’m at. This has been one of the most draining and lonely experiences I’ve ever gone through, and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.
To everyone who has continued to support me, show kindness, offer grace, and remind me why I started this in the first place… thank you. I see you, and I appreciate you more than you know.
