In this episode of The Resilient Living Podcast, we ask a simple question: “Why should I care?”

Why should you care about preparedness, gardening, fitness, water, food storage, privacy, useful skills, community, and self-reliance? Because resilience isn't about expecting the world to end—it’s about becoming more capable when everyday life doesn't go according to plan.

We'll explore the reasons these often-overlooked areas matter, why waiting until you need a skill is too late, and how small steps today can give you more options, confidence, and freedom tomorrow.

Jared Wilson seeks to provide Education, Experience and Equipment to people that want to become more resilient in their day to day life as well as for those that want to be prepared for emergencies and disasters

Many people dream of creating a food forest, but the reality is they are extremely labor and cost-intensive upfront. Sourcing native plants, ensuring their survival, and managing the complex layout requires immense effort and ongoing maintenance, often entirely by hand.

Many think a bigger bike means more skill, but it's often just about raw power. True ability shines when given tools—one person builds amazing things, another gets hurt. Technology amplifies our choices, shaping our thinking and our echo chambers.

As you can see below Georgia is still a NFA state so the historic victory for Our 2A RIGHTS has not helped the state of Georgia YET, and yet is the keyword. I’m asking everyone that reads this to tag Donald J. Trump & Governor Brian Kemp in the comments and ask them to get Georgia a “ FREE STATE “ asap!!!! We deserve the same freedoms as the other states and it needs to happen now. Huge shoutout to Congressman Andrew Clyde for taking a stand and fighting to restore the rights to the tax paying citizens of GEORGIA!!!

Many believe first flush diverters are essential for rainwater harvesting. However, for most of the United States, they might be largely ineffective. The idea is to divert the initial dirty water before clean water enters your catchment system, but their real-world impact is often overstated.

We often hyper-fixate on preparing for specific, Hollywood-esque scenarios. The reality is, what you're most worried about is rarely what you'll face. True preparedness comes from learning to live resiliently, building a strong community, and keeping faith at the center.

Preparedness truly begins with your physical condition, not just the equipment you own. Prioritizing fitness and health is far more crucial than accumulating gear. True readiness comes from within.
