This Fox FE 12g is all original, but the stock had been broke through the wrist and repaired at some point in the past. And the head showed signs of being split.
The owner was ok with the appearance of the gun, and just wanted it to be sound to be able to shoot it.
I reinforced the old wrist break with a pair of 4” long 3/16” carbon fiber rods to ensure that it would not come apart again. And the split head was glued and reinforced with a heavy wire staple under the tang.

Another pad install. In this case, the owner wanted 14-7/8 lop on this XE Fox. But the wood was not there. He was ok with using a 1/2” black spacer along with the new silvers pad to get there. I also leather faced the pad for him.

I just finished up restocking this german o/u combination gun (16g over 6.3x52r). The head and wrist was badly broken and barely holding on. The new stock set was made to match the original as much as possible. The trigger guard that was on the gun was a cast brass piece, which should have been horn, so I made a new horn guard to replicate it. And the grip cap was too deteriorated to reuse, so a new one was also made from horn.
A few new screws were made and engraved to match. The cartridge trap needed a new spring to hold it closed.
The checkering was cut in 28 lines per inch to match the original pattern.

I was booking in some jobs that I took in from this past weekends NE SxS in PA. And I saw that I just broke 1,000 entries through my gunsmithing book since I opened it in 2012.
It does not feel like just myself have had that many jobs come through my little shop.

This percussion bench rest rifle made by Otto Warner of Rochester, NY survived nearly 200 years until an auction company in CA ignored specific requests to ship it broken down. They did not, and the 40 lb barrel caused the wrist to break completely through. When the package was likely dropped on end by the carrier.

The rifle is .62 caliber with a 42” barrel. A heavy barreled target rifle is pretty common from the percussion era, but usually they were smaller calibers with shorter barrels. Making this one a rarely seen example.

I had to repair the break with epoxy glue. And then I inserted a 10” long 1/2” diameter carbon fiber rod behind the breech in order to reinforce and support the wrist from under the tang all the way back to the comb.

Dressing down the wood after the repair left light colored maple which needed to be color matched to the aged wood. Traditional iron nitrate stain was used along with some modern dyes to refine the color as needed. The rest of the stock was surface cleaned to brighten up the color and bring out the figure as well as the finish freshened up.

At some point all of the metal work (except the barrel) were nickel plated. I had that chemically removed and the brass and metal was then aged back to an appropriate gray and brown color. The barrel finish is original and the bore is excellent for the age.

A pair of custom built R***r 77 RSI takedowns. Both in .250-Savage.
Last year I converted one of these in .308 and at the NE SxS last summer two people saw it and wanted me to do ones for them. They both acquired these guns and had me converted them to takedowns for them.

On the .308 I modified a Superposed forend latch for the locking mechanism. This time I did a little of a different and I scratch made some large sliding buttons that click back and forth, like a safety button. It is simple and quick to unlock and un-screw the barrel.

Both guns had their stocks refinished after the conversions.
