5/6/26 - The bite on Big Spirit continues! We are ready for the forecasted warm temps at the end of this week. Today was cold and windy but we still got them on a Jig and a shiner. We moved quite a bite and got a couple on each spot. Weeds are coming up in some spots already and there are fish relating to those. Otherwise we still found fish in the basin.

We’ve got a full bait menu and are loaded up for the weekend!

With the 44th annual Iowa Great Lakes Area Walleye Weekend behind us, we can say you guys caught the heck out of them!! We loved seeing you all in store weighing fish! Congrats to all the winners this year!

We look forward to seeing you all again this open water season. The Walleye bite up on Spirit is hot right now and should only improve.

First off, THANK YOU ALL for making our 2nd Iowa Great Lakes Area Walleye Weekend as owners incredibly successful. We can’t thank you guys enough for stopping by for bait, tackle, registration and weigh in’s. The bite on Big Spirit was amazing this weekend.

The fun is just getting started. Tristan and I got out after shop close today and put a bunch of big fish in the boat. Multiple 25”+ fish with the biggest at 26.75. Every single fish came on a 1/8-1/4 Tungsten jig with live bait. LEECHES, crawlers and minnows are producing fish right now. All our fish came out of 18+ ft.

Weather is stabilizing and this bite is going to be very very good for the foreseeable future.
