Some builds are bigger than fishing.
This rod started as a well-worn vintage ultralight that belonged to a customerās father. It was his favorite rod for years before he passed away. Then it became his sonās favorite rod, holding years of memories on the water.
Unfortunately, the original rod was broken, but one piece was too important to replace.
The old Browning Tennessee grip.
Years of patina caused by fish slime, dirt, old tape residue, and battle scars remain exactly where they belong.
I was able to build a new rod on that original grip, blending modern performance with the vintage feel.
One final touch was adding the words āHey Kidā to the rod. Something his dad would always say.
Fishing has a way of connecting generations, and this build was a reminder that sometimes the most valuable thing we own isnāt the object itself, but the memories attached to it.
