I have made the decision to TEMPORARILY CLOSE the Route 9 Finds & Designs shop while I help my husband with his battle against a brain stem tumor. Not only am I finding that I just don't have the time, but I also don't have the creative energy that is an essential part of what I love to do. Currently he is in our local hospital but anticipate his transfer to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center soon, perhaps as early as tomorrow.

I may find myself creating something out in my workshop - the creative process can also be therapeutic! And if I do, I will post photos. If there is anything that you are interested in, either currently in the shop or new, just let me know.

Thank you for understanding, and I hope to be able to get the shop re-opened soon. Thank you for your understanding, as well as your support - past, present and future.

I must confess, this week I have been spending time in the flower gardens and not in the workshop! Instead of the back of my car being loaded up with attic, basement and roadside finds, it was loaded with perennial plants! With a lot going on in my world right now my creative energy was low, and I was feeling the pull for some manual labor, fresh air and garden dirt under my fingernails! Making new flower gardens is just a different kind of creative outlet!
But I WILL be in the shop this weekend, 10 - 3 both Saturday and Sunday so I hope that you will stop by!

Also, you will find several of your Route 9 Finds & Designs friends at the "Blooms, Books and Crafts" Event on the Common in Westmoreland, from 9 to 2.

I will have the shop open Sunday so stop by and say "Hi!" In my last-post I teased you about the little 3-D hand-carved fish plaques that I had found, ranging in size from 5 to 8 inches. Small, but beautiful in their detail! Here's a peek....
I also got in 2 great pair of Hitchcock-style chairs - they happen to look great flanking the mahogony demi-lune table that was already in the shop. Notice the difference in the lovely stencil patterns on the backs of the chairs.
Hey - I even have 3 extra zucchini plants and a summer squash!

Reminder that the Route 9 Finds & Designs shop will be CLOSED on Saturday this week, June 12th. I will be open on Sunday 10-3.

Tomorrow night I will post some pictures, but here's a hint: check out these small, 3-dimensional hand-carved fish plaques, two of 6 found at a Spofford Lake pick. Wait until you see what I have done with them!

What a beautiful, summery first week of June! I seem to be inthe middle of several different projects, but I did get a few new ones ready for the shop this weekend - who knows? Maybe more by Sunday! I also have new art from Susan Alejandro - everyone's favorite, a hummingbird!
Opens both Saturday and Sunday this weekend, 10 - 3. Heads up for next weekend - the Shop will be closed on Saturday June 13th, but I WILL be open on Sunday the 14th.
