Three years ago, beneath the canopy of the Colombian Amazon, this maloka stood as a place of ceremony, prayer, and learning at the home of my teacher, Taita Bernardo. Spaces like this hold so much more than memory. They remind us that each return to the light is also an invitation to begin again.

A New Day

The sun does not ask
who you were yesterday.
It simply rises.

Bringing light to what was dark,
warmth to what was cold,
and another chance
to begin again.

Maybe we are allowed
to do the same.

To leave behind what no longer serves us.
To forgive what cannot be changed.
To choose differently.
To become differently.

No matter how long the night,
morning always comes.

And with it, the quiet reminder:
