I restarted the Hello Local journey in May of last year. I knew when I opened a store this time around, that I needed a shared space with a strong brand and that I would move to self check out system that would reduce my overhead. I felt both were needed to give a small niche gift shop full of locally curated products a fighting chance. Obviously when the opportunity to share space with Onyx in downtown Springdale came along, I didn’t hesitate. We endured a couple of large front end costs included building out the space and changing our POS system. I’m constantly looking to refine the self check out process and overall customer experience.

I am also constantly looking to add products in our 3 categories (merchandise, goods and apparel) to fill in gaps and I love to read the feedback from the suggestion box. Without being in the store, providing an opportunity to give input was critical, we’ve already implemented a few things “from the box”.

We’ll continue to work on the customer experience and insure we have locally curated items you love gifting!

When we reopened our LOCAL GOODS ONLY gift shop, we knew there were some changes that needed to be made. The first is we wanted to share a space with a known brand and concept that would draw people… ✔️ the second is we needed to control our overhead cost by using a self check out system… ✔️

While it’s not perfect it has been a big part of our success to date.

We miss interacting with our customers but our suggestion box has been very helpful leading to new products and relationships that our customers have asked for. Stop by and check out our locally made and curated merchandise, goods and apparel… we’re downstairs inside Onyx in downtown Springdale.
