🎨 Meet the artist behind this year’s Mayor’s Awards for the Arts! 🏆

We’re thrilled to announce that Rosie Gale, owner of Ceramics Made by Rosie, is creating the awards for the 23rd Mayor’s Awards for the Arts!

A full-time potter and small business owner, Rosie is an active part of Springfield’s creative community through her paint-your-own pottery experiences, local markets, and art fairs.

We’re excited to see her creativity come to life in this year’s awards! ✨

And now it’s your turn: Who deserves to be recognized?

Nominate an individual, organization, or business for the 2026 Mayor’s Awards for the Arts! With eight award categories, there are plenty of ways to celebrate the people and organizations making a difference through the arts in Sangamon and Menard counties.

Thank you all for coming by to the market yesterday - we were close to selling out and we’re so grateful! Also thank you for all your patience as we deliver all our paint-a-pots!! We’re getting through them in order of when events took place (pieces are looking beautiful every firing!) and West of Wise July 17th and Bloom July 28th are out next! ✨

We are so excited for our events this month at three beautiful venues:

Come and join the summer fun, enjoy what these amazing venues have to offer, get creative, and paint a piece of handmade pottery to gift/keep/use forever!

We’ll have a wide selection of handmade pieces for you to choose from (mugs, vases, cake plates, spoon rests, travel mugs, bowls & more!) along with all the supplies you need to paint something beautiful. We can’t wait to see you and your creations!

Just wanted to say a special thank you to two of my lovely paint-a-pot regulars, Courtney & Nathan! It’s been 1 year since they started coming to our events, and here we are many, many pots later! ❤️ Pictured are just a few of their pieces!

Not only are they two of the kindest, most thoughtful people, but their love of creating is just so inspiring…

Many of you may know Courtney and her amazing block printmaking art, Mudpuppy Moon Art Courtney Farquharson , from local art fairs and more. If you don’t, you must! Every piece of pottery she’s painted has been so detailed and beautiful, it’s stopped people in their tracks!

And this is just the coolest… Nathan - whose wonderful pottery series of his beloved budgies and parakeets that has caught so many people’s eyes - hadn’t really painted before coming to these events. Since then, he’s been inspired to buy his own paints and canvases to paint at home, even sharing some of his work on his new page, Manny’s Art Nathan A. Mansfield . It’s been so fun to see his creations, and super special to know these paint-a-pot evenings played a part in sparking more creativity. I couldn’t wish for more!

Thank you both for your kindness, your support, and for choosing to spend time together coming to these events over and over again! It means so much to my small business and my family, as well as the local venues that you also support in doing so.

Watching your paint-a-pot collection grow has been such a privilege, but getting to know you both has been even better! 🫶
