The Story House invites you to participate in a unique artistic workshop led by Springfield artist, educator, and Artivist, Indi of
Keisha McMillen, founder of ๐๐ช๐ฃ๐ฆ๐ณ๐ข๐ต๐ฆ๐ฅ ๐๐ณ๐ฆ๐ข๐ต๐ช๐ท๐ฆ๐ด and our co-host for the evening, shares why this experience is important to her. โIndi and I met at Cafe Cusco, not for SoulScaping, but it naturally found its way in our conversation. Starting with my name, Indi created a safe space for me to share insights about myself and what matters to me.โ
On the 2nd and 3rd slides of this post, youโll get a glimpse of Indiโs technique and how he mapped Keishaโs name onto canvas. She continues, โThroughout the process, he asked if I saw any images such as โbirds,โ and asked if they had any significance to me. I quickly realized that SoulScaping was an original technique that fostered emotional healing and self-expression, two strong values for
During the workshop, Indi will guide you as you learn how to paint your own Soulscape. Youโll watch as words and memories transform into abstract designs that tell your personal story. No artistic experience is necessary โ only a willingness to explore, create, and be curious. The registration fee for this event is $49, which includes all materials and direct access to Indi and his one-of-a-kind artistic approach.
We know this event will be special, but Keisha says it best: โThis is something that needs to be shared as an effort to build community, for those seeking a safe space to be heard and seen.โ
