Hey guys! Here are some of big announcements we’ve been teasing about. It’s a long post but most definitely worth the read.
Firstly as a lot now know but some don’t Access Hobbies a couple years ago came under new ownership. In addition to the new ownership comes a name change. We are no longer Access Hobbies. We are now Evolution Raceway.
As many of you know Joe Ruggles (previous owner of Access Hobbies) Stepped away a couple years ago. With him stepping away there has been a small group of racers who have stepped up to keep the place running with different roles. I’d like to give a shoutout to those people.
Ken Feather: helps with various projects, occasional race directing and got us involved with a super cool F1 Series.
Steve Osterholt: Steve has i’d say the most thankless job, he opens and closes the track, does lots of track maintenance, keeps the place clean, well maintained, stocks some great items in the hobbyshop. Along with plenty of other tasks that unfortunately go unnoticed. Next time you see Steve at the track stop by and thank him for all the work he puts in.
Mike Pulfer: Pulfer is another guy that does a lot of behind the scenes work. Layout changes, help with track maintenance, travels to other races and promotes while he’s there. Announces races when needed. The brains behind a lot of changes we make to try and make our track better.
Colin Ruggles: Colin runs the hobbyshop during the winter and does a fantastic job. Last year after some motivation he has taken over as race director and is doing a fantastic job at learning as he goes.
Brayden Bowling (myself) I run the social media platform, promote races, travel to other tracks, occasionally race direct. And get races up on rc sign up. Honestly out of everyone i’d say i have the easiest job.
Without these guys we wouldn’t have a place to race. I am so thankful to have these great people to work with to keep this awesome race place alive.
Onto the news.
Evolution raceway will be running oval once a month I will post when the first race will be as soon as we have everything ready to go.
As everyone knows we remodeled the front pit room and have started on the main track area. Walls are painted but more to be done in there.
We have hopes of getting a mini z track up as well sometime this year.
Regards to the name on facebook, we have to wait 3 days til facebook will change it but wanted to start getting some info out there.
I will have our on road calendar posted sometime later today with what dates we are open and when our trophy races are.
Thanks for the read guys! look forward to seeing you this fall.
