Pudding’s Journal: The Big Move
Today was a very big day.
I watched as my tiny babies, no bigger than little specks with curious eyes, left the nursery where they hatched. My heart felt full knowing they were ready for the next little chapter of their lives.
One by one, my babies were gently moved into beautiful new homes. Six babies share each little kingdom, so they’ll still have brothers and sisters nearby while they grow big and brave together.
I peeked over as they explored.
Tiny feet climbed soft white pipe cleaners that reached all the way to the top of their homes. The glowing beads wrapped around them looked like magical little moons waiting to shine after dark. Before long, I knew each baby would pick the perfect corner to build a cozy silk hammock and call it home.
They seemed so excited.
Every morning they’ll wake up to a cool, gentle mist, just like fresh morning dew in the wild. They’ll stretch their little legs, sip tiny droplets of water, and wait for the most exciting part of growing up…
Breakfast!
Every feeding is another chance to become stronger, faster, and more confident. One little fruit fly at a time, they’re learning the skills every bold jumper needs. Watching them discover their instincts makes this mama so proud.
They’re still very little right now, but I know what’s coming.
Soon they’ll molt into bigger spiderlings. They’ll become curious explorers, fearless climbers, and impressive little hunters. Each one will grow into their own unique personality. Some will be adventurous. Some will be gentle. Some will make me laugh with their silly little jumps.
Before we know it, they’ll be ready to leave the nursery and find loving forever homes of their own.
It’s hard to imagine my babies getting that big already.
For now, though, they’re exactly where they need to be, climbing magical pipe cleaners, building fluffy hammocks, chasing tiny snacks, and growing just a little bit every single day.
I’ll be watching from here, cheering them on with all eight of my little spider legs.
