Just In — HiWatt DR103 100W Head & Original Fane Speaker Cabinet
HiWatt—the name truly speaks for itself.
Offered here is the David Gilmour weapon of choice, the HiWatt DR103 100W head, paired with its original cabinet. This is a rare opportunity to own an exceptional example from the classic Dark Side of the Moon era.
Expert amplifier technician Obeid recently inspected the amplifier and gave it a clean bill of health. As part of the service, two new electrolytic filter capacitors were installed, along with new screen resistors on the power tubes.
The amplifier is in excellent working order and appears to be unmodified. It retains its original Partridge transformers, including the TG9302 power transformer and TG5479 output transformer, along with DALY capacitors and Radiohm British potentiometers.
The preamp section features one original Mullard and three Amperex tubes, while the power section appears to retain older Siemens tubes. It sounds absolutely incredible, with the powerful, articulate character these early HiWatt amplifiers are known for.
The potentiometers are dated to the 44th and 46th weeks of 1972, while the serial number indicates that the amplifier left the HiWatt factory in Surrey, England, in early 1973.
The history behind this set is equally special. Its previous owner purchased it in England and brought it back to the United States, where he kept it throughout his life until his recent passing.
The rig has developed a natural smoky patina over the years, adding considerable character, atmosphere, and vintage appeal.
The matching cabinet retains its original, unreconed Fane speakers with HiWatt labels.

Local sale preferred. We can ship, but it will need to be sent via palletized freight, which although expensive is the only way to get it to it's destination intact.
