From Donna Kholer, Owner - Move2Vapor
My Dear Customers,
It is with a heavy heart that I announce the closing of Move2Vapor. The government keeps adding more restrictions and tightening the noose. We just can't hang on any longer.
My wonderful husband, Harry, and I started Move2Vapor in September, 2010. All business was conducted at the dining room table. We had to make appointments because we were in a residential subdivision. Harry told me that all his life he had wanted to help people. He got his wish.
We outgrew the table and, in July, 2011, moved to the house on Union Road. We converted the garage into our store and juice lab. We were the first brick and mortar va**ng store in St. Louis. It soon became obvious that we needed more room. On Fridays and Saturdays people would be lined up all the way down the driveway. We were selling ten kits a day. Harry was in his glory because he was helping so many people get off of ci******es.
In November, 2013, we opened in our current location. We had also opened a store in Bridgeton in March. We had grown our family of employees to twelve dedicated people. Life was good. Then the FDA decided that va**ng needed to be controlled. The to***co industry was pushing the FDA because they were losing a lot of money to va**ng. The pharmaceutical companies were losing money too and they weren't happy. People were va**ng instead of using Chantix or the patch or gum.
The FDA put out 500 pages of restrictions with instructions for applications to turn in over the next few years. Everything came with a hefty price tag and we couldn't afford it. It would have cost four million dollars for [sic: a chance at] permission to continue selling our juice. As a result, we had to stop our juice line, something Harry had always been proud of. Shortly after that our shipping was taken away from us. We could no longer ship to any customers.
That was, pretty much, the last straw. Even though we gained many new customers, it wasn't enough to sustain us.
So that's where we are now. We will be selling our products at a discount. I thank all of you who believed in us, bought from us, stayed with us, and told others about us. I am so sorry that we won't be here for you in the future. Please do what you can to stay away from smoking. Your life depends on it.
Love,
Donna Kholer
