Saint Louis, Missouri resident Gary of Allegro Arts:
" Every item in this shop is handmade by me, folded with care in my little basement studio just outside St Louis, Missouri. This means you wont see hundreds of identical items, and every piece is unique.

Silver Origami, or "metalgami", is high quality jewelry fashioned from sheets of .999 fine silver. Each item is carefully folded by hand, kiln fired, and highly polished. These tiny works of art are a treasure to last for many years.

Much of the so-called "origami" jewelry you may see is really only stamped from sheet metal or formed from a mold. My works are true origami. Every piece is folded from sheets of real silver, using the exact same folds you would with paper

I came to making jewelry through an unusual route: I started as a musician. I got into musical instrument repair, and found that much of the tools, equipment and techniques were also used in making jewelry. From there I went into working with silver. I've been doing origami for many years, and came up with the idea to combine the two hobbies.

Since I started folding origami from silver, I've been invited to participate in art shows and sold items to collectors around the world."

More work with the city skyline idea. This has enamel color applied using a wet packing technique, once it dries I can fire it in the kiln. The colors shouldn’t change too much.
