The waiting is over. Race day is here.

After months of preparation, planning, inspections, weather analysis, and gear checks, more than 150 competitors are set to begin their 636 nautical mile journey from Newport to Bermuda.

Today, Fort Adams becomes the center of the sailing world as spectators gather along Newport Harbor. The gear is aboard and the boats are ready. From here, success depends on seamanship, navigation, teamwork, and determination.

Landfall is proud of its long-standing support of the Newport Bermuda Race and the sailors who take on this legendary challenge. Whether you're heading offshore, cruising the coast, or racing around the buoys, we're here to help you prepare for your next adventure on the water.

For every Newport Bermuda Race competitor, the final 24 hours are as much about preparing the sailor as they are preparing the boat.

Since 1906, generations of sailors have stood on the eve of the Newport Bermuda Race, reviewing their preparations and looking ahead to the challenges of 636 nm (formerly 635 nm) offshore. While boats, equipment, and technology have changed over the decades, the importance of preparation remains unchanged. The vintage image from the 1946 start is a reminder that every competitor, past and present, has faced the same questions before heading to sea.

Months of planning have led to this moment. Boats have been inspected, gear checked, provisions loaded, and countless items crossed off the list. The preparation is nearly complete.

Yet one of the most important items rarely appears on a checklist:, mindset. Every sailor heading offshore carries a few reservations. Confidence comes from thorough preparation, sound judgment, and trust in your crew, boat, and equipment.
