The Kids Fishing Derby was a great success this year with 75 Kids who fished. Catching a total of 105 fish and a total weight of 510.75 lbs! We had 37 kids who weighed in with the biggest fish weighing in at 11.1 lbs and the big stringer (5 fish limit) of 35.3 lbs! Heartfelt congratulations to our top fishers in each category Jace Clark (8 & under), TJ Fogler (9-10), and Cheyanne Peak (33.1). We want to thank everyone who came out to help or just enjoy the day.

We had a 12 year old member accidentally leave behind some equipment while camping. If anyone finds a pole stand, lantern and bait caster please message me. Thanks in advance!

We will have our clean-up days this year on June 25th and August 20th. We hope to see our members there!

Also, we will be getting fish restock the week before July 4th and the week before Labor Day. Great times to bring the family out.

Attention members!! Tomorrow the 9th of April is the first clean up day of the year. All members are encouraged to attend and bring any outside tools to help trim w**ds, trees and so forth. Clean up begins at 8:00 a.m. See you there!

Attention to all current members!! The time has run out to pay your yearly dues. If you have not done so and would like to renew please send your $100 check by 2-28-2017. As long as your envelope is postmarked by that date your dues will be accepted. The mailing address is SSC C/O Gary Hawkins 1293 N. 600 East Rd. Mclean, IL 61754 As for inquiries on how to become a member please e-mail me or message me your information to be put on a waiting list. SSC currently only accepts 125 family memberships. We are currently in the renewal process for members. We will keep your information and let you know if we have any openings. Thank you!!

Minutes from meeting on 1-8-2017....
Meeting called to order at 1:30 pm. Barney Potts was elected as a board member to replace Lou Trunnell who resigned. Nicole Wade and Adriana Bagby turned 18 and became members, welcome to the club Nicole and Adriana! Replaced the two pavilions, thank you for the financial donations and all who helped with building them. Goals for 2017 is to finish wiring the pavilions and install night lights, repair or rebuild club house. Talked about adding concrete to help with eroding of center levy. Bill reported the fishing derby was a great success. The annual dues is $100.00 dues before Feb. 28th. The fishing derby for 2017 will be May 28th, at 2:00pm to 4:00pm. Check in begins at 1:30pm. Bill Haynes will be in charge. Shirts are free for kids. Adult shirts are $5:00. Clean up days are April 9th, June 25th, and August 27th. Clean up starts at 8:00 am. Please help w**d eat, pick up your trash, and any donations toward the club house would be greatly appreciated. Looking forward to a fun filled 2017!!

Thanks to all who donated and helped build the two new pavilions. Also received and mounted the memorial plaque for the Able family who donated the fishing bench on the south side of the north pond. Thanks to all SSC board!!!
