Today we are celebrating the woman who started it all. 🤍

Gorge Outdoor Collective exists because of a vision that the outdoors should be fun AND safe for everyone. What started as just a simple idea has grown into SO much more, thanks to this human right here.

“Getting to build this collective, building something that brings people into outdoor spaces they might not have explored otherwise- means the absolute world to me. Meeting folks face-to-face in store and knowing we are sending them out prepared and with confidence to adventure is one of my greatest joys. We’re Growing!

We are hiring part time positions at our shop in Stanton, KY.

We’re looking for someone who loves the Red River Gorge, enjoys connecting with people, and someone who shares a similar vision to us: helping everyone feel safe and prepared to venture into the great outdoors.

You will be the face of the space, helping hikers, climbers, and travelers gear up with what they need and feel welcomed while they’re here.

We’re looking for someone who:
• Is familiar with the Red River Gorge area
• Has a genuine love for the outdoors
• Is friendly, approachable, and helpful
• Works well independently and takes initiative
• Takes pride in their work and treats the shop like their own

Layers can be tricky ⚠️ Follow this guide and stay comfortable in any weather. Start with your base layers, they keep you warm and insulated. Mid layers will add warmth and keep your body temperature regulated. Outer layers are essential for days like today, when the snow could hit at any time. And always make sure you have extremities covered - they’re the first to freeze!
