Star Wars turns 50 next year and help us celebrate by welcoming an original cast member!
Biggs Darklighter himself, Garrick Hagon will be joining us!
Garrick Hagon was 13 when he was asked to play the Prince of Wales in Richard III starring Alec Guinness for the opening of Canada's Stratford Shakespearean Theatre. It was a lucky start to his acting career. At school in Toronto, he continued acting on stage, in radio, television and film. While gaining a BA in English and History at University of Toronto he spent summer seasons at the Stratford Festival playing Shakespearean roles under director Michael Langham. The company awarded him a Tyrone Guthrie grant which took him to England where he worked in repertory theatre for 2 years. On London's West End he played Chris in Arthur Miller's 'All My Sons'. He was Eros in Charlton Heston's film of 'Antony and Cleopatra'.
Then came George Lucas's offer to play Biggs Darklighter in 'A New Hope'. At the same time Richard Attenborough cast him as Lt Rafferty in 'A Bridge Too Far'.
Other films followed: Tim Burton’s Batman, as 'Dad' along with his wife, Liza Ross as 'Mum', Tony Scott’s ‘Spy Game’, Richard Linklater’s ‘Me and Orson Welles’, Paul Verhoeven’s ‘Black Book'. Also, CIA chief Davis in 'Red 2' and 'La Vie En Rose' with Marion Cotillard.
Garrick is proud to have been in Dr Who in two centuries, as Ky in ‘The Mutants’ and Abraham in ‘A Town Called Mercy’. He has filmed Wallander in Sweden with Kenneth Branagh and was Boss Canino in 'The Eagle' for Danish TV. In Brussels he played Halgate in 'Erased' with Aaron Eckhart, in Morocco he worked with Antony Quinn as Ammar in 'The Message' and in China he played the Anglican priest in Xie Jin's epic 'The O***m War'.
Garrick has voiced many cartoons such as the award-winning 'Gumball' as the Mayor of Elmore as well as other parts and also performed Prof. Henry Adams in the video game 'Batman: Arkham Knight'.
Garrick and Liza are directors of their audiobook production company, The Story Circle. He has directed or narrated over 300 audio productions, including a multi-voice production of Philip Pullmans' 'His Dark Materials'. For Amazon/Audible Originals he directed the Oedipus Trilogy and Assassin's Creed 'Gold'. For Penguin Random House he has directed audiobooks read by Werner Herzog, Jimmy Ware, Brian Blessed, Joan Collins, Geri Halliwell and Ian McKellen.
