Heading to the store in a while w/ a couple boxes of my usual cool & eclectic supply. Lots of good stuff this week as evidenced by this week's picture. Highlights include a beautiful first US pressing of Pink Floyd - Relics (a great comp of early tracks including Syd Barrett stuff), a mint original UK Blue Note 10" copy of Tony Allen (Fela's drummer) - Tribute to Art Blakey, a mint original of The Traveling Wilburys, a great original copy of Zappa/Mothers - Burnt We**ie Sandwich, a fine UK original copy of The Flying Burrito Brothers classic - Burrito Deluxe (w/ Gram Parsons), a 1972 French pressing of Sun Ra - Sun Song (originally a very rare Transition label release), an original copy of Sam Cooke - Twistin' the Night Away, a of Sonny Rollins - Our Man in Jazz ( mint 1994 Classic Records 180 gram copy reissue there's also an original copy of What's New) and an original copy of Cowboy Junkies - Trinity Sessions in shrink. MAY 29th NEW ARRIVALS / Rhoneymeade Fest 2026

So kind of a weird week for me. Sonny Rollins' death through me for a loop along w/ some other happenings so I didn't get a whole lot of records cleaned & priced but there are some good ones including these pictured ones like - the original 1969 Bee Gees 2LP set Odessa, housed in limited red felt cover! Also a mint original Lucinda Williams Rough Trade EP - Passionate Kisses, a mint promo copy of Dwight Yoakam - Buenas Noches From a Crowded Room, a great original copy of a killer soul LP on the legendary Westbound label - Denise LaSalle - Trapped By A Thing Called Love, a really nice original copy of Janis Joplin / Big Brother - Cheap Thrills, another great 70's Soul record from Latimore - It Ain't Where You Been... It's Where You're Goin' on the Miami Soul label Glades and a mint vintage LP 1983 UK copy by one of the great Dee-Jay Dance Hall Toasters Josie Wales - The Outlaw Josie Wales.

Taking a couple of boxes of my usual eclectic array to the store shortly as I'll be off to Manny's after that for a great night of Cumbia & Funk as described in my previous post. Tonight's pictured highlights include a Lee Perry classic - Cloak & Dagger, a rare score of an original George Harrison - All Things Must Pass box set, a mint original Prince Purple Rain LP, an original Go-Go's - Beauty & the Beat in shrink, Kiss Alive 2 w/ inserts and tattoos!, an original early 60's Trinidad pressing of a Calypso classic from Lord Kitchener, a great original Def Leppard - Pyromania, a nice original copy of Who's Next and sealed reissue of the first Ramones classic. And much more including some Beach Boys & Beatles records, a mint original mono copy of Bob Dylan Greatest Hits w/ original giant Pop Art poster, a beautiful original AC/DC - Back In Black and much more, so got 'em tomorrow. FRIDAY MAY 22nd @ MANNY'S Great Double Bill w/ Cumbia King heir Yeison Landero & The Nevaris Project

Yeison Landero carries in his soul a cumbiambero heart inherited from his grandfather Andrés Landero: a musician recognized nationally and internationally as the king of cumbia. Yeison played at Manny's Grand Opening and one other time and both times the band had the crowd in a dancing frenzy.

The Nevaris Project has performed on Manny's stage before and had the crowd grooving from the get go w/ their mix of funk, dub, and Afro-Latin grooves! The band includes some heavy hitters - Peter Apfelbaum on sax, Jojo Kuo and Lockatron on drums, Matt Dickey on guitar, Agustin Nevaris vocals, congas, and keys and a new addition for the evening Josh Werner on bass (Matisyahu, Lee Perry and many others)

Doors @ 7pm and hopefully an early 7:30 start w/ Nevaris so try to be there at 7:30 is the word for Friday. See you all there!

MAY 16th NEW ARRIVALS!!

Greetings! Letting you all know that I dropped a couple of boxes of records at the store this evening for tomorrows perusal. A bunch of the new arrivals this week include originals that are still in shrink wrap! Pictured highlights this week feature lots of Rock titles like the Best of Blondie, AC/DC - For Those About to Rock, a bunch of Fleetwood Mac including - Live (2LP set), James Brown - Live at the Apollo Vol 2 (great 2 record set), Joan Jett - Bad Reputation, Bruce Springsteen - Nebraska, Stevie Nicks - Bella Donna, Foreigner - Records and the Police - Ghost in the Machine. Also some more Frank Zappa / Mothers LP's, more Sinatra and a bunch of things I've been out of for a while. Come on in and check out the New Arrivals and all there is.

MAY 9th NEW ARRIVALS!!

Well I started Spring cleaning at my storage spaces this past week. I did a lot of serious digging and came up w/ one great box of Classical records, two boxes of crazy Cheap Thrills records and a box of cool pictured original high end LP's. Like Louis Armstrong & Ella Fitzgerald - Ella & Louis, Queen - Jazz (and a bunch more Queen!), Sam Cooke - Live at the Copa (UK original), Francoise Hardy - Nouvel, The Royal Philharmonic - Berlioz (audiophile reissue), Richard & Mimi Farina - Celebrations (one of my all-time fave Folk-Rock records from 1965 on Vanguard (Mimi is Joan Baez' sister and Richard wrote a 60's classic book - Been Down So Long It Looks Like Up to Me), a mint Barnes & Noble only reissue of Loreena McKennitt - To Drive the Cold Away, a 1975 UK Jazz LP Mike Westbrook - Citadel/Room 315 (features John Surman) and couple of Super Furry Animal UK originals - Guerrilla & MWMG.

And last week I mentioned 45's. I did end up bringing in a two boxes full of all kinds of classics & non-classics, all priced at $1! Some come and do some digging. More as time permits down the road.

MAY 2nd NEW ARRIVALS / 2 GREAT SHOWS AT MANNY'S MAY 2 & 4

So two crazy eclectic boxes of records hit the store late tonight for all to check out tomorrow. Tonight's pictured hi-lights include an original foil cover of Cream - Wheels of Fire, an incredible mint sealed original copy of Frampton Comes Alive in mint shrink wrap and quite large hype sticker, a nice play copy of Nina Simone - Forbidden Fruit, an 80's UK 10" LP - Chuck Berry - Duckwalking (old Chess tracks), a rare Fleetwood Mac two record bootleg set recorded live at The Record Plant, Sausalito, CA, December 15, 1974 and broadcast on KSAN-FM San Francisco (incredible sound quality!), Minnie Riperton - Perfect Angel (please read my note on the cover before buying this), a mint original copy of Otis Redding - Dictionary of Soul, a second pressing of Charles Mingus - The Clown and a great live Neil Young & Crazy Horse 2 LP set - Live In San Francisco.

I've also been working on getting a lot more vintage 45's into the shop. I'm hoping to start w/ a box or two tomorrow basically priced at $1 w/ more of all different prices later when I have more time on my hands. Stop in and ask for a look.

I will also highly recommend two shows in the next few days at Manny's. Tomorrow, Saturday May 2nd is the killer Malian guitarist Mdou Moctar. I've seen him play once w/ a band and it was a fabulous night so this is highly recommended.

Two nights later, May 4th SAXOPHONIST TIM BERNE, DRUMMER CHES SMITH, AND GUITARIST DAVID TORN PUSH FAR BEYOND JAZZ’S KNOWN BOUNDARIES IN SUN OF GOLDFINGER.

So I dropped a box of pretty cool records at the shop tonight. Pictured highlights include a mint original copy of Pink Floyd - Atom Heart Mother, a beautiful original copy of Dire Straits - Brothers In Arms, a sealed original copy of The Cars - Greatest Hits, a rare sealed original 2009 UK copy of Super Furry Animals - Dark Days/Light Years, The Who Sell Out (my personal Who fave), a German Small Faces comp, an original copy of the essential Sly & the Family Stone LP - Stand!, a mint original MFSL audiophile coy of Frank Sinatra - Nice & Easy and a nice German copy of Iggy Pop - The Idiot. Quite a batch this week wouldn't you all agree?

APRIL 17th NEW ARRIVALS & my RSD BEAUTIES

So I wanted to do an early post so everyone could save a little of their RSD$ and come visit me at Stax of Trax too! So I did a really deep dig into the Stax of Trax archives as well as from my personal collection and recent acquisitions to come up w/ some rare & great LP's that you don't see too often. I'll bring my usual stocking later in the today but I will debut the cool & rare stuff when I come in at the earlier time of 11am tomorrow so everyone gets a good & equal chance to check them out. All that said I did put up a couple of pictures w/ a lot of the highlights. All original copies in my usual great, clean condition. They include a classic Little Richard album, 2 original Josephine Baker 10" LP's (74 year old albums that still sound terrific w/ great artwork covers). Three great Blue Note records in that photo - Cannonball Adderley - Something Else, Donald Byrd - Ethiopian Knights and Jackie McLean - One Step Beyond. Also in tomorrow's batch are some great R.E.M. originals as well as the cool live bootleg - Smokin' in the Boys Room. Also in the pictures are two absolutely mint Uncle Tupelo originals from my personal collection a sealed original copies of - Live - Throwing Copper & Secret Samadhi. Also a couple of Radiohead Euro 10" LP packages, a gorgeous original Beach Boys - Surf's Up LP in shrink wrap. a mint original Madonna - True Blue in shrink wrap. An incredible original 1958 copy of Jerry Lee Lewis' first Sun LP and finally a UK Prog Rock LP from Hatfield & the North! Phew!

And as I said everyone gets a first look at them when I unveil them at 11am. There certainly be some other new arrivals in the bins to check. Hope to see you all tomorrow!

Sorry for late post. I was at another great musical event at Manny's last night, came home & forgot to do my post.

I brought in a great box of cool and eclectic records (all originals) including a mint original 6-eye stereo copy of Dave Brubeck - Take Five, REM - Nightswimming (a picture disc copy w/ 3 unreleased live tracks), REM - Fables of Reconstruction, U-Roy - Dread Ina Babylon, T***s & the Maytals - Funky Kingston (essential classic), Sam & the Soul Machine - Pork Bones (killer New Orleans Funk - think Meters), Stevie Ray Vaughan - Texas Flood, Live - Four Songs and The Spencer Davis Group - Second Album (UK copy). And some other classics that you'll find in the bins as a nice surprise, so come and get 'em
