This man came in my store yesterday and told my employee he was “Dominic from down the street” so I went to help him, he said “hi Dee” my name is Denise and I’m the owner, I assumed that I knew him because he called me Dee and that I didn’t recognize him, he then went on to say how “he knows he looked like sh*t” and that he was just diagnosed with cancer, and told me how his mother and father died of cancer, he said his father died recently and he found out right after that he had cancer. He then went on to tell me how he was having a fundraiser and clove lake park for the American cancer society and asked if I wanted to donate and get a raffle and that they would advertise and say that I donated. I STUPIDLY and out of the kindness of my heart gave him cash. Come to find out it was all a lie and he’s a scammer!! I usually ask for more info or some sort of paper work and I didn’t. And this is what happens when you let your guard down and feel for someone and try and be nice as it was for American cancer society!!!! When looking back at my camera footage I realized my employee called me “Dee” and that’s why he knew my name.

I got taken advantage of because I am a nice person and a kind business owner always willing to help out fundraisers and I will never let it happen again. Posting so people can beware not to give this AS***LE any money and I hope karma comes back to him 🙃
