What have I been up to Facebook asks? Well, let's see. In the past 4 days, I've been a pirate in Billy Bowlegs Krewe and sailed with him to take over the city. I've had a booth at the festival and was able to get copies of my books into lots of small hands. And I was a judge for the Billy Bowlegs Festival Parade. Not our typical weekend. Jerri and I had a blast.

You just never know what adventures you might be in for when you sit down to write a book.

Thanks to Captain Bowlegs and Ted with the Ft. Walton Beach chamber of commerce for making this all happen.

Just saw the complete set of illustrations for my new children's picture book. It's with the publisher now and will go to print by the end of the week. Very grateful to my illustrator, Philip Johnston who has been great to work with. And also to my publisher, Day to Day Enterprises. They've been totally supportive of this project. Can't wait for parents, therapists, and teachers to start using this book to empower young children to face, embrace, and calm their fears.

Almost ready to pilot a rough draft of the new children's picture book I'm working on with Illustrator Philip Johnston. It's for young children - ages about 4 to 10. Let me know if you'd like to read a draft to a child and complete a short questionnaire. We're hoping to get lots of good feedback we can incorporate in the final draft.
