ON THIS DATE: 35 YEARS AGO 🛠️📺

On September 17, 1991, Home Improvement premiered on ABC and introduced us to Tim “The Tool Man” Taylor, his family, and one of television’s most unforgettable fictional shows within a show, Tool Time.

Starring Tim Allen, Patricia Richardson, Jonathan Taylor Thomas, Zachery Ty Bryan, Taran Noah Smith, Richard Karn and Earl Hindman, the sitcom became a huge part of ’90s television nostalgia. 🔨📺

The series was produced by Wind Dancer Productions in association with Touchstone Television, and much of the show was filmed at Walt Disney Studios in Burbank. Stage 4 became officially known as the “Home Improvement Stage,” with a plaque outside commemorating the show’s connection to the studio.

If you watched ABC in the ‘90s, you probably remember Tim Taylor’s signature “Euuuhhh?” It was just one of those sounds that became part of growing up with ’90s television. 😄
