BATTLE OF THE BRUSHES: THE PEOPLE'S CANVAS!

YOU choose the inspiration. THEY bring it to life!

Five artists. Three hours. Five blank canvases.

One creative showdown in the heart of downtown Staunton!

But before the brushes hit the canvas, we need YOUR help deciding what our artists will create.

VOTE FOR YOUR FAVORITE THEME:

A. Echoes of the Blue Ridge - Celebrating the landscapes, culture, and beauty of our mountains. Artists interpret the mountains of Virginia, drawing inspiration from Shenandoah National Park, the Blue Ridge Parkway, mountain communities, and Appalachian heritage.

B. Humanity at a Crossroads - A contemporary theme about the relationship between humanity, technology, nature, and the rapidly changing world.

C. The Soul of Staunton - Capturing the character, history, and spirit of our community. A tribute to the architecture, people, history, street culture, and artistic identity of downtown Staunton.

D. Between Two Worlds - Where imagination and reality collide! A theme exploring the boundary between reality and imagination, past and future, or nature and civilization.

Cast your vote and help shape the challenge!

The winning theme will be revealed before the competition, where five artists will have just THREE HOURS to transform their interpretation into an original work of art.

đź“Ť Hosted by The Art-Cade | 103 W Beverley St., Downtown Staunton on October 24th

Five artists. Five visions. One theme chosen by YOU.

THEFT REPORT: Unfortunately someone this past weekend or yesterday stole a $5 bill out the memorial I have built for my brother. It may only be $5 but the bill was the first sale in this store and a note from friends was left on that bill. I will be sifting through video footage to identify the culprit but would appreciate its swift return if at all possible. Its not really the theft thats bothersome, as a business owner I've gotten used to sticky fingers here and there over the years but the fact that someone had to steal out the memorial built to honor my brother hits different...the bill is circled in the picture f9r reference. Any help is appreciated.

Made some progress already today, time for a break and see what kind of fun things we can tuck in the gaps. Stones or Silver to fill some gaps? Any thoughts?

Got a few things in the kitchen at the moment but here's a shot at the most recent. Trying to mix some different styles I have used over the years, not sure how it will turn out but fun trying some new techniques mixed with some old to see what I can come up with.
