It’s been a quiet few months here, and for the first time in a long while, my hands have been completely still. Instead, I've been leaning into a season of deep rest. It's been necessary, slow, reflective, and joyful.

As I slowly start to find my rhythm again, I’ve been stepping away from my usual tools to try something new. I’ve been spending my Wednesdays in a local weaving studio, learning and exploring with some dear family friends. There is something so grounding about the rhythm of a shared space and routine.

This huck lace hand towel was my first time on a floor loom after years of rigid heddle weaving. It was such a refreshing way to navigate this period of transition. Looking forward to spring growth and finding my way in a new season!

I don’t want to pretend that everything is okay or that we should be operating as normal right now. Seeing posts about art or business that feel disconnected from the reality we are living in is maddening. I am part of many social media groups focused on art and making, and the number of people asking for "political posts" to stop interrupting their experience is so sad. If you want to enjoy your hobby without the "politics," then you are endorsing the government's actions. You are saying your hobby is more important than democracy.

I've been sick with rage and spending far too much time fighting with others in local community threads. So when Maine Needs put out the request for art kits, I knew it was the perfect opportunity to do something tangible. These art kits are for children currently sheltering in place—whether due to ICE or other socioeconomic reasons. While it feels small, I believe every child deserves to be seen, to know they are loved and valued, and ultimately to have the ability to create, pass the time, and self-soothe.

I feel fortunate that I already have my DIY needle felting kits to share; it’s a craft that is portable, tactile, and grounding for the mind. While I wish clay/ceramics was easier to share, I’m happy to have a way to get creative tools into the hands of those who need them most.

Making and creativity are powerful for wellness and the mind, but they are not a substitute for the justice our community deserves. We cannot just look the other way.

I'm absolutely delighted to share that you can now find my handmade ceramics at the beautiful Bee Lunar Company! (Thank you for the warm welcome and the shoutout!)

Honestly, when I saw the call for artisans, it was a given I had to reach out! Not only do I already make and adore so many bee designs and honeycomb patterns in my studio, but I’ve also been obsessive about their body oils and product line for the last few years. It just felt like the perfect match!

If you're in the area, please stop by and see my pieces, including my new star ornaments, among all the other gorgeous artisanal goods they carry!

Supporting small businesses just got a whole lot sweeter! Go give their page a follow!

Remember those little clay stars you saw me making a few weeks ago? They’ve officially made it to the Christmas tree!

I was torn between a classic white finish and showing off the raw speckle clay, so naturally... I made both variations! They're perfect for adding a little rustic, handmade sparkle to your holiday.
Bonus idea: I even packed some up and brought them to CA for family, where they doubled as charming little take-home gifts for our holiday tablescaping!

So tell me, are you done decorating your tree yet, or are you still happily procrastinating? 😉
