Some fascinating new arrivals from ’s publishing division! I always know there’s bound to be some goodies whenever there are packages from them. In the photo, we have “The Last Riddle: Advice on Living & Dying Well from the Imprisoned Saint Thomas More” by Thomas Smith; “Every Word in the Lord’s Prayer: Reflections on the Perfect Pray-er’s Pefect Prayer” by customer favorite Peter Kreeft, and “Wonder + Shame: A Novel” by Gregory Orfalea.

Orfalea’s novel is particularly intriguing – it is “one man’s odyssey of hope and the remnants of faith [which] becomes a tale of love and war, and most affectingly, baseball” (back cover review). It takes place in the tragic setting of the Syrian Civil War.

Our friend and local author Will Hoyt will be in the store this Friday, June 12th, at 5:30 pm for a book launch party and talk for his new book – “Fear and Trembling in Las Vegas: An Unintended Journey to the Heart of the American Promise”! We are so thrilled to have him return. We also just received from our friends at Penguin Random House several copies of Kierkegaard’s “Fear and Trembling,” as well as Hunter S. Thompson’s “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas: A Savage Journey to the Heart of the American Dream.”
