Working urchin-style baits through heavy cover requires a clean, snag-free setup. The Core Tackle Weedless Wacky Shot features a single cable guard to slide through brush and an integrated shank weight for the perfect fall rate.

Just clip the stock hitchhiker, thread the bait directly onto the hook, and fish it through cover without hanging up. Best for 9mm to 17mm urchin baits.

Targeting fish holding in 5 to 15 feet around creek channels requires a clean finesse presentation. The Core Tackle Hover Rig features an internal weight and a 90-degree line tie that gives your soft plastic a horizontal, natural glide. Pair it with a mid-strolling shake to keep that presentation right in the strike zone.

Rigging urchin-style baits can be tricky, but using the Core Tackle Scamper Rig makes the process much simpler. The built-in weight system holds the bait securely near the eye of the hook, giving you maximum hook gap and better hookup ratios.

Recommended pairings:
* 17mm urchins use the 2/0 size
* 19mm urchins use the 4/0 size

Targeting open-water bass in September comes down to matching the profile and movement of local shad.

The unique design of the Strut Head drives maximum rolling action directly into the Basstrix Lure Co. Hover Trix as it moves through the 5 to 15 foot depth range. A light shake on a semi-slack line is all it takes to trigger a reaction.

Here's a unique way to rig an Urchin style bait by pairing a Hag's 19mm with a 4/0 3/8 oz Core Tackle T**h hook. The weighted keeper locks the soft plastic in place while maintaining enough gap for solid hookups in deep water.

The Core Tackle T**h paired with a 7” hog farmer s***k Shad is a killer setup when I’m targeting bass relating to the bottom. 👊

I like fishing this combination around flats, drops, and ledges, especially when I can find fish holding tight to the bottom.

It’s a simple presentation, but it gives you a big profile and a way to keep your bait right where those fish are living.

If you’re seeing bass on the bottom with forward-facing sonar, this is definitely one to have tied on! 🎣

The Scamper Rig has come through BIG TIME for me lately! 🎣

This time of year, I’m finding bass suspended and higher in the water column, and the Core Tackle Scamper Rig paired with the Bass Trix Flash Trix has been a great way to target them.

Being able to watch the bait and the fish on LiveScope makes this bite even more fun. Sometimes it’s all about putting the right bait in front of fish that are already telling you where they want to be.

Smallmouth and spotted bass cannot resist the distinct wobble of a flatworm on a Shimmy Rig during the fall.

Most tackle in the fishing market is just the same design with a new logo.

When Matt and I launched Core Tackle, we wanted to build something different: rigs engineered to give soft plastics a completely unique underwater action that fish haven't seen before.
