Montana’s Misfits Pet Retreat is proud to support the Bitterroot Valley Military Program and the incredible group of local youth who are working hard to raise funds for an upcoming trip across the country! 🇺🇸

This is so much more than just a trip. It’s an incredible opportunity for these kids to travel, experience new places, learn outside of the classroom, build confidence, make memories, and experience opportunities that they may not otherwise get.

We think that's pretty awesome. ❤️🤍💙

So, we're helping them raise money — and we'd love for our Misfit community to help, too!

This hot weather has us wondering...

🐶 Are your dogs splashing in a kiddie pool?
🐴 Are your horses enjoying an early morning ride?
🐔 Are your chickens searching for every shady spot they can find?
🦎 Are your reptiles soaking up the warmth?
🐱 Are your cats doing what they do best... napping in the coolest spot they can find?

Around here, our daycare and boarding crew have been making the most of pool time! 💦

📚 Training Class Update: Due to all the smoke we've been getting in the Bitterroot Valley, we've decided to push back the start of our upcoming training classes. We love holding as much of our training outdoors as possible, and we'd rather wait for cleaner air so everyone—both humans and dogs—can enjoy the experience. We'll announce the new start dates soon!

The Western Montana Fair, Ravalli County Fair, Victor Days, camping trips, vacations, family reunions... summer has a way of filling the calendar fast!

While you're making plans for your adventures, don't forget to make plans for your four-legged family members, too. 💙

Whether you're headed out for the day to enjoy one of our local events or leaving town for a vacation, your pup can spend the day having a vacation of their own with us!

We intentionally limit the number of dogs we accept so we can provide the individualized care, enrichment, and attention every guest deserves. Because of that, when we're full, we're full! We always recommend booking your daycare or boarding reservation as soon as your plans are confirmed.

Did you know that our Community Pet Pantry is available to help local pet owners?
No questions asked!

And it's not just pet food!

Our pantry often includes items such as:
Food and water dishes
Pet food and treats
Leashes, collars, and harnesses
Pet clothing
Puppy pads

And many other pet supplies as they're donated!

Whether you're going through a tough time, fostering an animal, welcoming a new pet, or simply need a little extra help, we're here for our community. If we have it available, you're welcome to take what you need.

Something Exciting is Coming to Montana's Misfits Pet Retreat! 🐾

Now that we've wrapped up our Anniversary Celebration, survived the excitement of the 50 Mile Yard Sale, and the owner has finally taken her first full day off since opening (yes, really! 😅), it's time to turn our attention back to one of our favorite things...

TRAINING!

We're busy putting together our next round of classes, which will begin in mid to late July, and we can't wait to share them with you!

Along with our regular favorites like:
Puppy S.T.A.R.
Good Dog 101
Trick Dog..we're also adding something new!

We'll be offering a variety of one-time educational workshops designed for dog owners, families, and anyone who wants to better understand dogs. Some of the topics we're planning include:

Dog safety for kids
How to safely handle encounters with reactive dogs
Public etiquette with your dog
Canine body language
And more!

The best part? You do not need to own a dog to attend these educational workshops! We'll be using our own demo dogs, making these classes a great opportunity for parents, grandparents, pet sitters, dog walkers, volunteers, or anyone who wants to learn more about staying safe and building better relationships with dogs.

We're excited to continue offering practical, relationship-based training and education to our community, and we hope you'll join us!

Keep an eye on our page over the next week or two as we announce class schedules, dates, and registration information. We have something for everyone—whether you're raising a new puppy, polishing an older dog's manners, or simply looking to learn something new!

4th of July Boarding Reminder

As we get closer to Independence Day, we'd like to remind everyone that Montana's Misfits Pet Retreat has been fully booked for the 4th of July holiday for quite some time.

While we wish we could accommodate every family, one of the things that makes our facility different is that we intentionally limit the number of dogs in our care. This allows us to provide the individualized attention, enrichment, and quality care that every guest deserves.
When we're full, we're full.

If you're already thinking ahead to Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, or other holiday travel, we encourage you to reserve your pet's stay as early as possible. Holiday weekends are some of our busiest times of the year, and booking ahead is the best way to ensure we have space for your furry family members.

To everyone traveling or celebrating at home, we hope you have a safe and wonderful 4th of July as we celebrate America's 250th birthday! ❤️🤍💙

Even though we somehow got left off the official 50 Mile Yard Sale map (yes, we paid to be included! 😅), Montana's Misfits Pet Retreat IS a Hot Spot this weekend!

What an incredible day!

We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make our Anniversary Event possible. To every vendor, nonprofit, community organization, volunteer, and community member who came out to support us—thank you.

Seeing people come together to support local businesses, learn about services and organizations in our area, enjoy great food, meet new friends, and simply spend time with their community was exactly what we hoped for.

A special thank you goes out to all of our vendors and participants for sharing your time, talents, products, services, and knowledge with our guests. Events like this are only possible because of the amazing people willing to be a part of them.

And to everyone who stopped by, shopped local, asked questions, grabbed a bite to eat, met some animals, or simply came to say hello—we appreciate you more than you know.

We are incredibly grateful for the support this community has shown Montana's Misfits, and we're excited to say that we're already tossing around ideas and making plans for next year's event! 🎉
