The manuscript and cover jacket are done for my upcoming novel, A Quick Trip to Mars. This is the followup to my 2024 release of The Man Under the Moon. It’s a reality-based sci-fi, action / adventure, 313 pages and 102,000 words.

The book is currently in editing, and will be introduced in hardcover, softcover, and e-book formats at the ND Book and Arts Festival on the University of Jamestown campus on September 26.

Last night, after 60 years of playing the trombone, I got to put a checkmark on my bucket list, by playing with a rock band. But the coolest thing is, the sax player next to me is my sister Melissa. This is just a snippet of ‘Vehicle’, originally by the Ides of March.

I literally parked in front of this sign at a towing company today. If you showed up to recover your towed car, but haggled in the office for 1 minute too long… the car you arrived in would be towed.

If you weren’t careful, you might show up in the sequel to Groundhog Day… over and over. Y’all come back now, hear?

How many times is a towed car towed, if the car recovering the towed car is towed? The number is… infinite.

This is pretty cool. The back row includes my hardcovers. The front row includes my new softcovers. There is no third row, as my e-books just magically appear on your tablet (well, you know, for $6.99).

My point is that while the back row sells for the reduced price of $19.99, the front row books are the same size, the same words, and just as pretty… for $9.99!

Plus, a miracle for the ages. I ordered those five softcovers last Saturday evening, and Amazon Kindle printed them, shipped them, and got them to my front door by Tuesday noon! Definitely magic.
