Current project: 1999 Epiphone Rivoli bass reissue

I’m planning on stripping the finish and upgrading the hardware to stuff. There was a finish crack at the nut but luckily it didn’t go to the wood.

On the bench is a 60’s Guyatone SB-25 bass, the body has a lot of finish cracks, it’s missing one bushing on a tuner, the bridge was missing all the saddle adjustment screws, the frets were actually rusted with lots of oxidation, the neck had to be shimmed and while unscrewing it one of the screws snapped 🙃 luckily I had some saddle screws from a Yamaha that fit perfectly, the broken screw has been removed, hole doweled and space filled with wood filler, and the neck shims have been made. Now just to wait for it to dry, get the bridge saddles adjusted and filed, and try to hunt down a bushing that’ll fit the tuner.

NGD: 1971 Yamaha SG-5A 😍
I received this gorgeous SG-5A yesterday and finished getting it setup and adjusted today. It’s absolutely incredible! I shielded the control cavities, lubed the pots, leveled and polished the frets, and gave it a nice cleaning.

I went a little over the top modding this Yellow Little Bass 😅

I swapped out the stock bridge for a Kickass bridge, replaced the stock electronics to get some more high end roll off from the tone control, and replaced the stock pickup with a Musicmaster Bass p90 so I could try to steal some of sweet, sweet bass tones 😄

NGD: 1975 Yamaha SX-60

I imported this one from Japan with the description saying the neck was bowed and it wasn’t making sound. Luckily the trussrod still worked and it turns out the instrument cable was connecting with a bare wire when plugged in so both were easy fixes. I leveled a few of the frets and now it plays and sounds awesome! It’s pretty bright with almost a Fender Mustang vibe.
