Last week I had the opportunity and pleasure to give back to my community and to share my love and joy, sparking fascination with fun education by sharing some of my rock collection with a wonderful group of kids at Lil' Cubs Child Care Center and Preschool an hour of discovery, touching, feeling and playing all about ROCKS and it ROCKED! I brought along some large display pieces, lots of colorful, shiny, flashy, textured, strange and beautiful pieces, blacklight flashlights for the Ultraviolet Reactivity, regular flashlights for the droozy ones. I kept my talk short to maximize the fun hands-on time for them. I explained how one of my favorite parts about my job as a Rock Hunter was how I dig these treasures out of the Earth, wash them off to reveal their true nature, then I proceed to cutting, grinding & polishing and ultimately selling them to new owners. I also mentioned how I thought they might enjoy this process as well so I had a center where I buried treasure (tumbled stones, shells, fossils, painted rocks, quartz crystals) in receptacles of sand and had various diggers and brushes for them to find and reveal for themselves their own treasure! Followed by a rock bath in water! [Which by the way, they cleaned those rocks SO WELL] everyone had so much fun the entire time at all the stations and the 'OOoos! and the Woahs! and the Wows! And the 'loook at this one!' and the excitement was the highlight of my week. So much joy and interest and awe and wonder. I was also pleasantly surprised how much some of the kids already knew about rocks! Some of those kids knew more than some adults I know; like knowing what a geode is and that Obsidian comes from volcanoes! I am so blessed to operate my dream business and honored to share my passion with little hands and brains, watching the lights beam in their little eyes, like little mirrors of my soul.
I also brought my oldest and youngest child, for moral support, extra help and for them to see me in my zone in a new environment. Dravyn actually went to this child care center also, so it was very neat for him to return and be recognized and also had quite a few classmates there also for the experience!

(The last two pictures are the bottom of one of the buckets the kids played in. Minerals in the sand crystallized underneath the sun as the bucket dried these past few days of hot hot heat. I have a good feeling that the happiness from these kids and the energy from them boosted the crystallization. Look at that divine pattern of sacred geometry)
