Thanks for all your comments the fishing seems to be tough for everyone here at the Twain.
And now for a quick change of subject, last year we gave away a box of jigs as and 5 bags of plastic as well as a stay at Southfork resort.
This year we are working out some details for another give away at the beginning of the NFL season !
We had a huge amount of intrest last year several people responded and I wanted to thank all of them and hope they will participate again this year.
More details to come before the season kicks off. So please keep us in mind cause someone going to win.

Went out for a few hours yesterday. Fished the North Fork area on Mark Twain.
The weather was not to bad early till around noon.
The fishing however was a bit more difficult. Got bit right off, within an hour I had 3 large DRUM laying on the deck of the boat. I made a quick move and stuck 2
more. So that didn’t work out. Made another move around the bluffs up river from the Stoutsville boat ramp. I did manage to stick a few short crappie and a few Whitebass.
So I ventured into Otter creek up past the cut through onto a flat , fished some stumps up that way and caught another 5 DRUM. All the while the day was rapidly passing me bye.
So I made a final move into 3 fingers , caught a few more Whitebass . The expectations I hade were rapidly deteriorating, the day was getting shorter and the temperature was rising bye the minute. Discouragement had settled in and as hard headed as I am even I had reached my limit.
I decided to pull the pin and head to the ramp.
So to those of you that are catching fish congratulations. I hope your bite holds up.

Happy Birthday America!!
250 years old and still the prettiest girl in the neighborhood!
That’s right 250 years ago the world saw an experiment, and experiment in self government. Perhaps the first of its kind.
As a country we set off on a road on known to the world at this point in time.
A country of freedoms and rights. To this day it still stands as a beacon for the rest of our world.
Several times throughout our country’s life we have been challenged challenged by countries throughout our world. We fought wars to defend our way of life. To keep our rights and freedoms in tact. We have never failed. We owe this to the many patriots that risked their all to protect these freedoms and rights.
So many patriots throughout our history laid down their life for these very precious freedoms. They should not be taken lightly.
On this particular day my mind races back to all the dangers the American experience has faced.
From the Revolutionary War . Concord and Lexington “The shots heard around the world and we survived so the American experiment could move forward
The war of 1812 was the next attempt to stop the American experiment .Where British soldiers burned the White House and the library of Congress. But still we forged out way forward.
In the 1860’s we fought a Civil war Brother against Brother .
With the wounds still open we once again put our country back together.
Throughout all of this the American people stood strong, answering the cal to arms.
Now 250 years after the start of the experiment we still stand strong, strong and proud.
We owe this not to the politicians but to the masses of the American people those very people that fought and sacrificed for the American way of life.
So on this day of Independence when you lay in your bed at night please remember of all the sacrifices made by the everyday Americans. In the morning when you rise to start your day take a second and recall all the sacrifices throughout out history that made this Nation the finest on the earth! And please please thank a VET!!
