It's no secret that and its natural to feel the ups and downs.
I was in the car on my own (a pretty rare occurance) and listening to my on when the song by came on and I FELT IT right in my feels.
If you've never heard the song, the part of the chorus I connected with was:
"...you're hanging by a thread but you gotta survive
'Cause you gotta survive
Like your body's in the room but you're not really there
Like you have empathy inside but you don't really care
Like you're fresh outta love but it's been in the air
Am I past repair"
The song does it better justice than I can typing it here but safe to say the equivalent hashtag for what I felt then was because I was just DONE IN.
So I parked and replayed the song. And I felt it again.. and again.... and AGAIN. And I let myself really immerse myself in the feeling.
And I decided to prioritize me and took a break right there for those 10 minutes.
Then I turned my car back on, dried my eyes and drove home where I was greeted by tiny hugs, sticky hands, mischievous smiles, covered-in-choclate kisses and all the other delightful signs of love my toddler shows me.
And I knew we were gonna be ok because while parenting is hard it can also be really, really great.
I think sometimes we're scared to feel the sad, the angry or the just plain negative emotions. On this I want to give you permission to and really feel those emotions just make sure you don't get stuck there so you can keep on living through it.
