Your favorite gold color isn’t actually about the gold.

Yellow gold, white gold, and rose gold all start with gold. What changes the look is what gets mixed with it.

That’s one of the things I like about jewelry - two people can want the same quality of gold and still choose completely different looks. Some people never stray from classic yellow gold. Others love the clean look of white gold, and some prefer the warmer color of rose gold.
