Very soon. . .

Over the last 8 months we've been chewing away at a new website. A number of new features have been added specifically to make the process of shipping a firearm easier while also increasing the level of accountability.

The biggest leap forward is our new BATF compliant Bound Book system. It is now completely automated. You as the client/dealer will actually enter the BATF required information before it ever leaves your possession!

This began as a convenience effort on our end. The tempo around here has us logging/processing a steady 40-60 serialized parts per week now. The time spent doing the data entry to stay compliant resulted in lags in other departments.

The new system will eliminate this. Your information will save in your individual account. Once the item arrives here, we validate the information and click a single box. At that moment it's burned into the archives forever with a fully compliant audit trail for BATF compliance inspectors.

The added benefit is your property now has an audit trail with us while its in shipping. Should it become lost or stolen, there are no hoops to jump through trying to remember the make, model, SN information. It's all stored in your account.

Our "status tracker" is also getting a facelift. No more emails. You'll be able to track status on the site and also receive text message updates in real time.

Additionally, we will now have a dealer portal for the shops that retain us for gunsmithing services. You'll be able to upload FFLs, Form 4s, SBRs, etc... They'll be stored in your account for easy access on both ends. Quotes and invoices will become self generating. No more having to create a word doc to send with parts. Once this takes off, it will be completely self managing on the site and we'll all be working from the same documentation.

Dealer rates will also be in real time. These are going to be structured in a Tier level format. As work increases, rates will adjust accordingly.

You'll also be able to use your own shipping account*

*(this is a work in progress still as there are some legal requirements we have to investigate further)

Not too much longer!

XM3 scope bases from IBA.

We've installed 3 of these now and basically none are the same. Were not talking .002" or .005". I can live/accept that.

Were talking "Minute of knotted string and a piece of chalk." (Sidewalk chalk at that, the BIG stuff)

Moving forward, if you want one of these installed by LRI, there will be a surcharge being added to the invoice because we have to completely rewrite and proof the program before we ever think about putting a tool to your receiver.

I have two in here right now that don't match each other, nor does the 1st one we did a short time ago. Kalyb just finished running the first one for today. It is fitted to the client's action as one would expect it to be. Out of curiosity, he went to grab the next one to see how it fitted. It rattles back and forth in excess of .045". -It is so bad that the scope base holes won't even allow for screws to be installed. Digging this rabbit hole deeper, we compared it to the first one we installed. It too is completely different from the ones here.

This particular job is for another shop. It's 4 actions being fitted up for the base. This is why I insist on folks sending us the artifact parts they want us to fit. Imagine if we'd received the actions and only one base. 4 actions with particular serial numbers to coincide with the period. If we'd been told to use the ONE base to fit all 4 actions, what would have happened when they got their parts back and went to assemble them for good?

3 of the 4 actions would end up being junk. Who's fault would that be and who would be man enough to stand behind it? As it's said, "Experience is not cheap."

Just to be transparent:

We are not installing these with a Bridgeport sporting a DRO and a wiggler edge finder. They are fitted with a VF2 4-axis mill using live, wireless, probing and a well vetted CAM system. We've installed # # of various keyed/clip slotted bases over the last decade with this machine.

Absurd!
