Our stock finishing services are now up n running on the new site. I went on a "nerd bender" yesterday with the stock paint listings that ended at 3:30 this morning. Consolidating 18 years of photos into a single library is a big bite.

There is a decent size library of photos with these now. Hopefully it all makes sense. Some will be familiar to old clients as their stuff is shown.

I'm working on the blueprinting service now. Its up, but missing some content photos. Ill get those uploaded in the morning.

The visual impact a well finished r***e has cannot be underscored. Regardless of how exceptional a gun may shoot, the first introduction is always visual.

FINALLY!

Here's a peak of the new format. Our Barreled Action Service Packages (what used to be called "group buy") is all new. This was a huge bite to take and it took me some time to set up.

I tried to take all of the variables we've experienced from the last 13 years of hosting our Barreled Action Group Buy and apply them to a convenient, phone friendly format. No more PDF docs to fill out, no more having to guess about where your costs are going to land. NO MORE stupid pages/links that mysteriously fail due to obsolete web formatting.

A lot of very specific services now listed as well. My hope is to have the most comprehensive, convenient, and streamlined gunsmithing services website in the industry.

Ma**er blueprinting is now a thing for us.

First one ever rolled through the mill today. Its been a long haul as some of the tooling required isn't easily sourced here in the states. 55* Whitworth thread mills in a 12 pitch are kind of an oddball. Fortunately, Germany makes some nice ones.

So far so good. We discovered the scope base the client provided doesn't fit. The hole spacing is off.

We'll be firing up the mill to make some tomorrow sometime.

Our new website should go live either this weekend or first part of next week. Super close to cutting it loose!

XM3 scope bases from IBA.

We've installed 3 of these now and basically none are the same. Were not talking .002" or .005". I can live/accept that.

Were talking "Minute of knotted string and a piece of chalk." (Sidewalk chalk at that, the BIG stuff)

Moving forward, if you want one of these installed by LRI, there will be a surcharge being added to the invoice because we have to completely rewrite and proof the program before we ever think about putting a tool to your receiver.

I have two in here right now that don't match each other, nor does the 1st one we did a short time ago. Kalyb just finished running the first one for today. It is fitted to the client's action as one would expect it to be. Out of curiosity, he went to grab the next one to see how it fitted. It rattles back and forth in excess of .045". -It is so bad that the scope base holes won't even allow for screws to be installed. Digging this rabbit hole deeper, we compared it to the first one we installed. It too is completely different from the ones here.

This particular job is for another shop. It's 4 actions being fitted up for the base. This is why I insist on folks sending us the artifact parts they want us to fit. Imagine if we'd received the actions and only one base. 4 actions with particular serial numbers to coincide with the period. If we'd been told to use the ONE base to fit all 4 actions, what would have happened when they got their parts back and went to assemble them for good?

3 of the 4 actions would end up being junk. Who's fault would that be and who would be man enough to stand behind it? As it's said, "Experience is not cheap."

Just to be transparent:

We are not installing these with a Bridgeport sporting a DRO and a wiggler edge finder. They are fitted with a VF2 4-axis mill using live, wireless, probing and a well vetted CAM system. We've installed # # of various keyed/clip slotted bases over the last decade with this machine.

Absurd!
