We will be closed temporarily while Ken and Joan both recover from surgery. Joan had a procedure on her back and Ken had foot and ankle surgery. They are both off their feet for awhile but are anxious to get back to the store as soon as possible. We will post again as soon as we are able to reopen. Thank you all for your prayers and well wishes. We can’t wait to see you again soon!

After a week in Sentara Heart hospital I was cleared and surgery is scheduled for 6/30. I'll be down for at least 4 weeks but hoping for a quick somewhat recovery. Mom has been moved to a physical therapy program and is getting better daily. I think I have found a young lady to work 3 days a week while I am out. I will post the hours as soon as I can confirm them.

Thank you all for your love and support. There have been many responses for helping the store, I need it. Please send me a text message 757 679-2488 as to what you expect in pay and what you can do. I have to offer even if it is a few days a week, but I owe my customers a consistent opening days and time, something I can't do right now.

As many of you know the Knot Hole Station has not been open very much lately. I have been getting cleared for my ankle reconstruction surgery, but the cardiologist threw me a curve and sent me directly to Sentara Norfolk General Heart where I spent a week of testing and diagnosed with moderate aortic valve dysfunction but is treating it with medication and lifestyle changes. Went to my last clearance with gastrointestinal dr but should get cleared and a new surgery date scheduled. Going to try to get a temporary ramp made so I can get in the store.
Meanwhile mom was admitted Sunday night to obici hospital with back and stomach pain, undergoing testing as I speak. Hopefully she will get released in the next couple of days but I don't see her helping out anytime soon.
So please bare with us until this battle is won. Rumors going around that we are going out of business but that is Rumors. I full anticipate opening back up full time as soon as I can recover from the ankle reconstruction surgery.

Happy Easter to all of our wonderful customers and friends. Just picked up an assortment of 30 beautiful hanging baskets . Only $19.99. Most are about 16 inches in diameter. It's early still so you can watch them grow. We will be adding more but I was worried about cold weather, lots of work to move if needed, but I thought you might need a last minute gift or to make your porch look.

Thank you all for your support the last few months. Mom has done the best she could filling in for me. Most of you knew that I was having trouble with my legs. After Christmas the pain got unbearable so I sucked it up and went to a specialist. After 23 xrays I have extreme neuropathy, planter facetious, arthritis ankles, knees,hips and hands. I have 5 fractured vertebrae in lower spine, fractured hip and multiple in my left foot. I was sent to a second specialist and he said he could do it but doesn't do alot and he is sending me to another specialist, that's who he would send his father to. They have given me medication to block the nerves so I can get around a little better. If will be major surgery with plates, screws and rods, second option I don't want to talk about. It all will be determined by success rate and down time, second option is a shorter recovery time. Trying to get back to consistent opening. It will be 12 to 5 and maybe later if I can. I have good suppliers who said they would load me and sons will unload me. Going to try to keep you stocked. I will keep you posted now that I will start knowing more. I couldn't keep going with the pain I was having and I can handle pain pretty good. Last hernia surgery they split me open with a 10 inch vertical cut and did it out patient. Enough bad talk.
So thank you all for understanding and your support. I have seen some negative posts but I didn't want to respond until I could be honest. For 3o years I don't think I have missed 10 days at work. So enjoy your day and God Bless you all. Stop in and see us but please don't stop in to talk about my issues. It is on my mind Enough. Thanks for understanding.

I Want to apologize for having sale and then not being open. It will continue or start today about 11:30. Getting ready to go down there now. This should explain what happened.

I am very sorry for this happening and your inconvenience. Friday morning getting ready to come in I got very dizzy but I do sometimes with the medicine I am taking but I soon found out it was much worse. Still in the house as I turned around and lost my balance and knocked down the vacuum cleaner and proceeded to fall backwards over the cleaner and hit my head on the coffee table which somewhat knocked me out. Worked hard to get out of the situation but I was weak and lattrgec and didn't understand what was happening. Ended up passing out for 7 hours until my son stopped by and got me up and said I was talking crazy. I began to get better a little bit through the evening. Felt for sure I would be at work Saturday but there was no way, still had a lot of confusion and Sunday my son stopped by and woke me up and I said what time is it and he said a little after 2 pm. But he wouldn't let me come to work, he made me stay and watch football with him so he could watch how I was doing and if he was going to have to try and override me not going to the hospital. But he saw improvement and so now I am heading into work. Should be open by 11:30. Hope you all understand, Mom has been under the weather and been to now care, so I made my kids not tell her. She didn't need me to worry about.
