What can coloring do for your child?
️⃣ 🖍 Pencil Grip Practice: As a pre-writing skill, using crayons helps children learn the correct way to hold a writing tool.
️⃣ 🖍 Strength and Coordination: Coloring helps develop hand-strength and fine motor skill coordination which lays the foundation for writing, typing, cooking, building with blocks, and all kinds of small muscle movements.
️⃣ 🖍Focus time: Using crayons helps children complete a task from start to finish. Often their art grows in complexity as they mature, needing more focus and time to complete, stretching that skill and the brain even further.
️⃣ 🖍 Creativity and Expression: Art time encourages creative independence as a child chooses the patterns, shapes, and colors to use. It engages the brain and the story telling process as their imagination is accessed and thoughts or feelings are shared visually.
