1:170 scale model of the Humber Bay Bridge in Ontario Canada. I made this for the Citadel’s Civil Engineering Program in my junior year. This type of woodwork is something different than my usual work but I enjoyed the process and the fact that my beautiful daughter helped me as well.

Well it’s been a while but I needed a break. Here is the dragonfly for the hand I carved. Still needs some touch ups but I wanted to get holes for the wings in place which were made from basswood shavings using a chisel. Entirely from basswood which proved to be more friendly than the padauk. Used and to create this piece. What do you think?

A hand carved by hand and chisel out of basswood. Finally in the finishing phase of this project. Sanding and final details to come soon. This beautiful piece of basswood was provided by and the chisels used are the super sharp set. If you haven’t checked either of them out you’re missing some good quality products. Follow me to see this project to the end!
