Proceeds from the sale of donated items are used to fund other local nonprofits that help those most in need in our community. Second Chance Thrift Shop was opened in 1988 with a mission to support local non-profits that assist those most in need in our community. For 2021, Community Support Award recipients include HELP of Summerville, Meals on Wheels, DCCO (Home of Hope and Hope’s House homeless shelters), Katie’s Krops, Doors to Freedom, and Carolina Youth Development Center.

If your wardrobe totes are overflowing or your closet doors barely close, this is your sign! It’s National Clean Out Your Closet Week, the absolute best time to refresh your space and make a massive impact right here in Summerville.

As you pull out last year’s cool-weather gear, set aside the gently used items you didn't wear. That jacket sitting in the back of your closet could bring warmth, dignity, and comfort to a neighbor in need!
