SAFETY EQUIPMENT:

COURSE OF FIRE:
A sight-in period will be available at 20 yards before the event starts.

Six rounds will be loaded in the rifle and pistol, and the fi****ms will be spotted on the table, in a loaded and ready condition with the safety on.
Five rounds will be loaded in the shotgun, and the firearm will be spotted on the table on the far right, with the safety on.

Starting with the pistol, the shooter is given the command "Stand ready." At the sound of the buzzer, the shooter picks up the pistol and shoots at the six plates from left to right. If a plate is missed, the shooter engages the next plate to the right.
When all six shots with the pistol are fired, the shooter will make the pistol safe and move to the right of the table, pick up the rifle, and engage the second rack of plates from left to right. The shooter will engage the next plate to the right if a plate is missed.

All pistol shooting may be done one-handed or two-handed.

SCORING:

Gates open at 8:30 am, with first shots as close to 9:00 am as possible.

Shooters with flat-top rifles and/or no iron sights can use a fixed- or adjustable-power telescope to achieve up to 6x magnification.

The course of fire will consist of 45 rounds, with up to 5 sighters taken in any position.

String 1: 10 rounds slow fire, prone.

String 2: 10 rounds timed fire, prone, from standing with a mandatory reload, in 80 seconds.

String 4: 10 rounds, rapid fire, standing with a mandatory reload in 20 seconds.

Maximum score of 400.

All shooting will be done on our 100-yard rifle range. Iron-sighted rifles or those with zero magnification optics (red dot/green dot) will shoot a 200-yard reduced target, while rifles with magnified optics will shoot a 300-yard reduced target. We will use proper reduced targets if available, or will substitute comparable targets from club inventory.

If there are more shooters than space, we will run multiple relays.

The match fee is $15.

Our club has 3 Rock River National Match AR rifles available on a first-come, first-served basis. Shooters may use their own 223 Rem FACTORY ammo in these rifles. NO RELOADS. We have 55-grain 223 ammo for sale for $8 a box (20 rounds). Cash only. Only enough rounds to shoot the match will be sold to any shooter.

Our club has several M1 Garand rifles that qualify for this match. If a shooter would like to reserve one of these rifles, please let me know ASAP. Shooters can use their FACTORY ammo in these rifles, provided the ammo does not exceed M2 Ball specifications—NO RELOADS AND NO HUNTING AMMO. We also have a small supply of M2 Ball ammo available for these rifles. Shooters using club guns may purchase only enough ammo to shoot the match. M2 Ball is being sold at $1 per round.

All spent brass from ammo purchased from SW Gun Club will remain the property of SW Gun Club.

SAFETY: Ours is a cold range. Rifles should be brought to and from the line in a case, bag, or sock. If you lack any of these, please bring your rifle to the line with the muzzle UP, magazines out, action open, and a CHAMBER FLAG in place. While on the line, always keep the muzzle pointed down range. Make the rifle safe between strings, remove the magazine, lock the action open, and install a chamber flag.

SW Gun Club Poker Match
March 14th.

In lieu of our Bullseye match next Saturday, March 14th, we will be shooting a poker match instead. Each shooter will be provided a deck of cards. These will be shuffled and stapled to a backer, face down, then handed to the person on their right. Shooters will fire on command until they score 5 hits on 5 separate cards. Once all shooters have finished their string, the cards will be removed, and the shooter with the best hand wins the round. We will continue until there are no more cards. Two-handed shooting and unmagnified optics are allowed. Standard match fee applies. We have several decks of cards on hand, but if you have an old deck lying around, please bring it in case we run short.
