Some tree work is challenging not because of height alone, but because of what surrounds it. For this storm-damaged tree, our Spider Lift gave our crew the reach and controlled access needed to work within a tight residential property.

Its compact footprint and articulating boom make the Spider Lift an important piece of specialized equipment for difficult-to-access tree work, allowing our crew to navigate narrow areas, work around structures, and position our arborists closer to the work zone while carefully considering the surrounding property.

Proactive tree care is especially important on school campuses and other high-traffic properties.

Our crew was recently back at Oak Knoll School of the Holy Child in Summit to remove a dead Hickory that had become a safety concern on the property. With regular activity around campus walkways, parking areas, and gathering spaces, addressing hazardous trees before they become a larger problem is an important part of responsible property care.

Working on an institutional campus requires careful planning and coordination. This removal was completed ahead of the return of regular campus activity, with each step carefully managed to protect the surrounding property and minimize disruption.

When severe weather brings down mature trees, the priority is making the site safe and restoring critical access.

This emergency response in Chatham involved a heavy Eastern White Pine failure across a residential property, impacting the deck and roofline while blocking driveway access.

Our crew used strategic rigging to carefully manage the weight of the compromised tree, clear critical access points, and remove heavy material around the home and surrounding property.

Here’s a look at our Spider Lift getting into position for storm-damaged tree work in South Orange. Designed for tight-access work with a relatively small footprint, the Spider Lift allows our crew to navigate residential properties where larger equipment may not be practical.

As the outriggers extend, they create a stable working platform, allowing the lift to be safely positioned before our crew heads into the canopy.

This mature Black Oak in Summit shows distinct evidence of a strike, with a long section of bark stripped and wood damage along the main trunk.

Lightning damage isn't always limited to what you can see from the outside. A strike can injure the tree's living tissues, wood and root system, and the full extent of that damage may become apparent over time.
