THEY DON'T ALL WEAR GOLD BUCKLES. SOME WEAR THE RESPONSIBILITY, LIKE LEGENDARY PICKUP MAN LLOYD FARIA:
A great rodeo is about more than the eight seconds. It's also about the cowboys who are there when those eight seconds are over.
Lloyd Faria knows that job from the inside out. A ranch-raised cowboy who once rode bulls and ba****ck horses himself, Lloyd found his calling as a pickup man when he was asked to fill in. It turned out to be right up his alley.
For more than 20 years Lloyd worked the biggest of the big rodeos, earning the respect of the people who know what it takes to do the job right. He wasn't just part of the action. He was part of the tradition.
The best pickup men need horsemanship, timing, courage and an instinct for knowing when a cowboy needs help. They ride toward the action while everyone else watches.
Now you can hear and see Lloyd Faria's story — and some great rodeo history — on WILD RIDES! 📺 Watch the episode on Wild Rides YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mksGkZwuFKU&t=88s
