This week's perennial shrubs are the Lodense Privet & Western Sand Cherry! Serendipity has these available for fall planting. Both are ready to plant right out of their pots and are perfect for landscaping borders or a colorful addition to your back yard. They are currently $15 off marked price!

First, the Lodense Privet: This dense, deciduous dwarf shrub is perfect as a low hedge, border or foundation planting. Grows 4-5 foot tall & wide. It produces lightly scented white flowers in spring. This shrub thrives in full sun to partial shade, in average well drained soil. Very hardy & tolerant of Wyoming winters.

Western Sand Cherry: This Native Shrub with green leaves that turn red in the fall, produces white flowers and dark purple fruit. Growing 1-2 feet tall, it tolerates cold, wind & drought. Prefers full sun but can be planted in partial shade. This shrub attracts pollinators & the fruit is a good source of food for birds & small mammals. 🐦

Each week, we are featuring two shrubs we have available! This week, we are showcasing the Mountain Ninebark and the Dwarf Ninebark! Here are details on both!
Mountain Ninebark: Hardy, native North American shrub grows 3-4 feet wide and tall. Known for its peeling cinnamon brown bark, it features clusters of white pinkish flowers. Its a drought tolerant shrub that tolerates rocky soils and is an excellent choice for low hedges & borders.
Dwarf Ninebark: This tough, compact deciduous shrub grows 3-4 feet tall and wide, and features burgandy/bronze foliage in the fall. In spring, little white flowers with clusters of pink grace this pretty shrub. Planted in full sun, it tolerates clay or alkaline soils and is very drought tolerant.
Both of these shrubs are available and are currently $10 off during our greenhouse sale!

When temps climb this high, you can imagine how hot our greenhouse gets. If its 100 degrees outside, its nearly 130 degrees inside the greenhouse. So we created this little plant oasis near the store. Its perfect for extremely hot, dry days. We still have some pretty flowers & herbs left, as well as our beautiful perennial shrubs and bushes. 😎

Your garden and flowers are going to need special care the next few days. You can water in early morning 5 am-8 am., but the BEST TIME is in the late evening. You should never water in the highest heat of the day. Watering in the evening allows the root system to completely nourish and hydrate the plant. If you see drooping, remember to check the soil for dampness and remember that drooping is the plants way to redirect the energy to the root system and not the leaves. If the soil is still damp, stay calm and allow the plant to recover itself once the sun goes down. Plants can scorch if watering is done with the heat peaks highest temps. Stay cool and hydrated yourself these next few days. 😎
