Sunset Retreat

As we close this chapter, I’m reminded of Philippians 4:11, where Paul says, “I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.” This season has not been one I would wish on anyone, but I am deeply grateful for the many customers who have shown grace, kindness, encouragement, and understanding through this disruption of life.

I sincerely thank each of you for your support, prayers, and kindness throughout this transition. Your graciousness has meant more than you know.

It is with a heavy heart that we share the news that Sunset Retreat will be permanently closing its doors, with our final day of business being September 15, 2026.

As part of the administration of my father’s estate, the Independent Executor has made the decision to liquidate the estate. As a result, Sunset Retreat will be closing as part of that process.

This is certainly not the way we hoped our Sunset Retreat story would end. Sunset Retreat has been blessed to be a gathering place for quilters, friends, and groups from near and far. Over the years, we have shared countless hours of quilting, laughter, fellowship, creativity, and wonderful memories.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who has supported Sunset Retreat and the quilt shop throughout the years. To our retreaters, coordinators, instructors, customers, vendors, and friends—thank you for allowing us to be part of your quilting journeys. You have truly made Sunset Retreat special.

We will be contacting guests and groups with future reservations directly regarding the closure and any applicable refunds.

As we work through the closing and liquidation process, we respectfully ask that you refrain from contacting Sunset Retreat directly with questions at this time. We will provide additional information as it becomes available and will contact those directly affected by the closure.

We know this news may come as a disappointment to many, and we sincerely appreciate your understanding, patience, and grace as we work through this transition.

Thank you for the memories, the friendships, and the many beautiful quilts created at Sunset Retreat. ❤️
